another 2 cents to the Electonic/mechanical issue...

A well build, good quality mechanical mod is for a lifetime.
It wil always work as long as you treat it well and as long as there are batteries avalable.

I do have a Provari and it is a big help to me to learn how to prepare a good coil.
But for the two 'lifetime' setups I'm putting together now, I prefer mechanics.
Gives me a sens of control and independence :)

Well put.

That's the best part of this, there are options for each of us to get what WE want. There is no single "right" answer...

It'd be like debating 18650 vs 18350 batteries... They each serve their purpose and we'll always have our own preferences..

The important part is that we help people understand the differences to help make their own, hopefully well informed, decisions.

I find too there are many valid arguments for the superiority of both VV and mechanical mods, but that for me It is just a case of what to experiment with first (finances allowing of course). The lure of so many options to tinker with and the aesthetic quality of ecig mods makes vaping such a truly rich and immersive hobby or pastime that I could never go back to smoking stinkies., and that is surely why so many of us are here. Give up all this for an anologue? No thanks. I have my new addiction and it's not costing me more than money.

Thanks. This has been one of the specials, took me over 250 hours to make it.
Haha, and no, this is not advertisement...:)
This part of my work is not on the market and when it would ever be,
ill be long forgotten over here :2cool:

Back on topic...DID, nice little story about upcoming mail from Greece...

And I'll just toss in my :2c:..... Once you get the coil setup for your mechanical mod, you're golden. BUT....if you DO like it a tad higher, or lower, you toss a kick in and regulate the wattage. I prefer the wattage rather than the Vs. Some juices I have a sweet spot at 7.5ish watts. Others I like at 9Watts. With provaris, you have to get the Vs right to attain it, and with a mechanical and a kick, you set the wattage and it will match the output to whatever ohms you coiled. It's just another way of attaining a consistant vape.

Again - my :2c: I have a kick for each of my mechanicals. I don't necessarily always USE the kick, but it's there.

Here's the problem "I" have with that though... (Clearly all personal preference)

The higher you crank the voltage to compensate for a higher ohm coil, the faster you drain the battery.

Actually no.

To supply 15 watts.
At 6 volts it will require 2.50 amps through a 2.4 ohm coil.
At 4 volts it will require 3.75 amps through a 1.1 ohm coil.

Drawing more amperage from the battery will discharge it more quickly.

Over here we don’t have cent’s, we have pennies, so I will throw my pennies worth in as well….

(plus point) With a mechanical mod there are no electronics to go wrong
(plus point) They are more reliable
(plus point) They are usually easy for the user to maintain if something breaks or wears
(plus point) They deliver what they are supposed to (power) in the shortest direct route to the coil
(plus point) Some, can be extended or added too, to take differing sizes and combos of batteries
(plus point) You can add a device like a Kick to transform them to Watt controlled Vaping
(plus point) They don’t scream E1, E2, errors all the time

(minus point)……… Hmm I’ll have to think about that……. Still thinking…… Nope can’t think of any
(minus point)……… Still can't think of any !

Ok thought of one... They dont have a flashing digi display to remind you what you are doing!

Oh my dear old mailman
just 2,5 hours away and 50 years back from Paris.
I see the question marks growing in his eyes overwe the past weeks
But today they were twice the size...

He had a little package for me
from Paraguai...
I could see the corner was torn up, but taped together again
Someone has been peeking!...

I knew what was inside, he knew as well...
A little plastic bag with 85 gramms of the sweetest, finest white powder you can imagine :p
I thought of teasing him, but desided differently.

In a few days time there will be another package...from Greece!!
And you can bet, when I have to sign for it there will be a smile all over my face.
This will be the final proof for the mailman
he must be right....

Enough...up to the kitchen to prepare my stevia-extract.

oh the memories of my first week or so with DID and the provari. Don't get me wrong, I'm a curious george and usually want to know (if for consistancy's sake if nothing else) how I coiled it. And I DO use a couple of DIDs on provaris. Why? I don't have enough mech mods. That's why. (not yet)

You are correct, that'll teach me to try to think about electrical math while I should be working, lol.
Guess I'll stick to the mechanical mods in the office.

To add to ALL of this, I have absolutely nothing against VV and have no intention of getting rid of my ProVari Mini any time soon, I just find myself gravitating to the mechanicals with genny devices much more often these days. And if I had to choose my Zombie Apocalypse set-up, it'd be mechanical.

And so would mine, however before I get to that Zombie Apocalypse momment I want to try a Darwin..... just to see.... it's my one exception, but that may change after I try one (more chance of finding Rocking Horse S***).

Ok you mechanical mod maestro's, help me out here. I want to buy one but I have some criteria.
1) I don't do Facebook, and won't.
2) I don't do waiting lists.
3) I don't do Chinese mods. (Sorry, but I like quality workmanship!)
4) I prefer 18650 size or 18490 w/kick.
5) Must look fantastic and make all my friends (ya, both of them) jealous as all get out!
6) Must be SS or Ti.
7) I refuse to give Paypal my bank account number so I can't get verified to look in the classy's.
8) I'm not going to send my money today and wait months until I get it.

Well, whatcha think?

Oh, and before you mention Super-T, sorry, but I just don't like their bottom button set up. I like bottom buttons, just not theirs.

My biggest problem with mechanical devices, despite fixed voltage, is lack of protection and regulation.
They look beautiful but until that is solved; I'll keep paying for more advanced devices.

It has been solved, throw away or re-setting fuses are available, so is the kick for regulation if you want it.....

The Kick is exactly the kind of device I am talking about. Unfortunately the Kick is limited to 10 watts. When they make a 15 watt version I'll be all over it.
