Ok,my 32 & 30g Kanthal is still not here, but my last rejuvenated coil was looks very sad and flavor was lacking, so I pulled out the nichrome 28 I bought at the local electronics shop (was the only res wire they stock) and set about making a coil for my new 110mm #500 mesh wick, 10wraps, steady 1.5Ohms, wrapped the coil around a drill bit then inserted drill bit into DID tightened connectors slid in juiced up 3500 wick, and Bob's you mother's brother, 8 watts on the ZMAX and a great vape. This is not my ideal set-up (still running on so who knows) but until my kanthal arrives IT WORKS

Just saying, I was over on Facebook, and I noticed worried conversation about a certain copy cat product that all were bragging about just a few short days ago. Seems, some attempted to mod, and discovered it was not pure Stainless. (Why any would think it was Stainless for $12, and not some cheap base metal is beyond me.) Now many are freaked out and worried about metal content. Oh well, get what you pay for. I love my DID, and DiD jr. From Jim!

please tell me in your experience everyone which is better for clouds of vapor on the did

A. a solid roll of mesh with a tiny bit of hole in middle
or
B. a fairly thin walled mesh much like a straw with large hole in middle

assuming my mesh is 400 and juice 70/30 and rolled to fit snug in the wick hole.. which is fairly large on the DID mini

I like to run mine somewhere between those 2 statements.

Pretty thick wick, with enough of an opening that a small paperclip will just fit down through.

I set it up to be pretty snug, but so that it will still slide easily into the wick opening without having to twist it to get it in there.

This set-up gives me both great flavor and vapor and also wicks very well with the screw plugging the fill hole. Perfect for me all the way around..

I think it depends on a lot of factors. Thin walled wide wicks (40mm x ~25mm) work great for high power coils (15-20 watts) because you need get a lot of surface juice that almost flash vaporizes. Thick wide wicks are being done with 500 finer mesh (40mm x ~110mm+) and seem to work great for more "normal' (8-10 watt setups) because the 500 mesh seems to wick better (more capillary action) and the lower wattage heats a bit slower so won't scorch the juice in the middle of the wick. The standard set up 400 mesh (40mm x ~50mm) works reasonably well across the spectrum, but has room for fine tuning to your personal tastes.

I hope this doesn't raise more questions than answer, but if we're here to try help.

this is how mine is set up right now.. pretty thick.. with a hole big enough for paper clip.. but im getting mediocre vapor at best.. with no screw in fill hole.. if i put fill hole screw in i get dry hit..

i thought maybe if i made a thin walled wick with a giant hole like a straw i can get more vapor?...

the wick i currently have is 40x40 and i can fit a paper clip thru center... 4/3 wrap @ 2.0ohm... 4.0 on the provari and mediocre vapor at best with the air hole lined with wick..

very frustrating since it seems to be a perfect setup and yet no where close to the ammount of vapor i see on videos...

i have no idea what else to do.. there are no hot spots.. everything lights evenly.. sigh..

I usually end up with overwicking on a thin walled wick with wide open center.

Try firing it with the top off holding it at your typical angle that you'd hold it at when vaping.

If you see any coils start to glow, you're not getting enough juice. If you see it start to boil a bit, your flooding. You should be able to get what you're looking for by changing the angle, pinching the top of of the wick closed if its flooding, etc... My guess is that if the taste is good, and vapor production is low, you may be flooding a bit. 3/4 wrap at 4 volts should be producing plumes...

Main page states the following:

"We can not accept orders until we ship all the orders made last week!"

He's in catch-up mode.

Is anyone else having trouble completing checkout on the site? After all my info has been entered, I'm getting a "No Payment Module Installed" message. Jim are you closed to new orders at the moment?

Ha! Selective reading. I saw everything above the "cannot accept order" statement and conveniently ignored the important part. Jim! Please take my money!

:)

Good afternoon !

My present from Pete Saturday was one of his wick & coil set ups.
I have such a great set up right now I don't want to change it, but when it's time to re-do things I will try it.
(I tried the one he had on his and it was really nice ! lol - so was the mango liquid he had in it !)

You've just described my wick. I'm so fortunate that this is the way I like it, because, so far, it's the only way my talent will allow me to roll it lol. (beginners luck or what!!)
