I finally got my order placed but I had to do it through Paypal email instead of through their website. At least I hope it worked this time. lol What a PITA that was. :glare:

So hopefully the waiting begins. I ordered the Mini which is in stock. How long does it usually take folks here in the states to get their new toys from them?

Thanks for the replies earlier to my post. Hopefully I can calm down now. :D

That is not unique to the DID. All genesis atomizers are fiddly.
Try the bluegrasslover method.

I have used this method on another tank mod and although it does work and gives the benefits he listed there are also drawbacks with it. The main one is crud build up and not being able to dry burn. IMHO it Kinda defeated the purpose of using pure SS wick so I went back to just raw SS. If anyone is still having the normal problems with hot spots and shorts then I recommend they try this method to at least use and learn their new SS set-up.

Each order I placed took about 1 week to go into shipped status and actually ship. Then it took about 2 weeks to get to your door. And I'll caution that it's only about a day or two MAX to MAKE it to the states. It's customs that holds onto it for so long. I swear they go and play shuffle board with these items until they get the next batch of shipments in. :?:

  • Reason: You've been given good advice. Stop with the negative stuff if unwilling to try it.

Nico - Your problem is not with the DID. It is with ALL genesis style attys. I'm kinda surprised you bought one.
The draw on the DID is actually MUCH tighter then my other genesis (Zen-atty) - the airy draw is a well known attribute of the genesis style. Fiddling and the learning curve to these things is also well known. With practice, the time spent fiddling drops exponentially.
Genesis style is not for everybody.
There's nothing wrong with not wanting to put the time and effort into making it work correctly. Try using something other then SS mesh. Cotton, silica or bamboo yarn (as well as your ceramic) should work ok, or just sell it and stick to non-genesis gear. There are plenty of good regular attys out there.

But it is true that the problems you are having are not intrinsic to your DID - they are from your wick and coil.

We have a great thread, and product, with very intelligent, determined, helpful members, who have catered and helped me develop Jim's wonderful DID into a remarkable, reliably functioning, wonderfully fulfilling machine. Unfortunately, when you have the giving type of group we have assembled, it will sooner or later, find itself invaded by a juvenile, contrary personal agenda, troll. I have seen this happen again and again. My method of handling will be to ignore, to the best of my ability, someone who obviously does not want to learn, but really is here to irritate, confuse, and denigrate a product he neither understands, nor wishes to enjoy. The agenda he is practicing exists to generate negativism and derision. I find myself feeling sorry for the type of person who must surround themselves with negativism to find any fulfillment. Let me end by saying to anyone new, or fence straddling on the DID. It is a remarkable device. Don't think cheap, and go with the clones. Head to the mmvapors website, spend up for a device that will last you a lifetime. Don't listen to those who are unwilling to invest time in developing their investment into a truly beautiful working rig. Think of the DID as a fine wine. Some can learn to appreciate the wonders of a well defined vintage, others prefer Ripple. Trust me, the fine wine is the better road to develop and respect. Since buying my DID, all other atty's, carto's, tanks, and drippers, are catching dust on my shelf, or have been given to new vapor friends to learn the pleasures of vaping. Keep the thread positive and helpful to those truly seeking knowledge and help.

I for one am really regretting putting my did up in the classies on monday.. Im supposed to send it out today, but i almost want to tell the guy nevermind.. Ha, but im not that kind of guy. U guys are all right on, i tried my buddies did and that has a nicer tighter draw than the zap.. But due to my itchy trigger finger always spending more than i should i had to do this... But in a couple months im hoping i will be as lucky as the guy who bought mine, and grab a very nice did for a great price.. Or ill just but it from greece..

Nicotinologist I'd just like to say, like most other people that went to the trouble of getting a rebuild-able atty I've tried practicably everything else on the market. The DID is a great device if your having problems it's user error. As for SS wick's, they work just fine better than anything else I've tried.

Now I would type more but I can hardly see the monitor anymore for the huge cloud of vapor I just blew out.

Oh and Jim belated congratulations on the new Baby
All the best

EVERYTHING takes some adjustments and fiddling. To what degree depends on the product. Heck even cartos in a tank seem to have a moment of "did I punch it enough?"
Once you master whatever product you do have, it usually brings smiles during vape time. And this thread is LOADED with ideas and extremely helpful individuals. BONUS - there is brutal honesty here so sensitve egos beware. Head the advice and you'll reap the rewards.

Could not agree more I got a new mod a few days back, did not work with the DID I came here and asked. Got 3 answers to the question in 5 minutes had the problem fixed in 10. It just seemed better than heading over to Super T Manufacturing and throwing the rattle out of the pram. But then you can't help some people.
