a 4/5 wrap with the 30awg is exactly what get right now: 1.2. set at 4v on the provari... you get a good 12 watt...
you'll even get away with 1ohm on the provary as long as its stable...
So it is safe at that low a resistance. Thanks, good to know. I wasnt sure. At 4 volts or so though and right at the amp limit, if my resistance waivers at all and drops .1 or .2 , instant E2/ E1.... But it seems to work fine. Definitely more wiggle room however with a 2ohm that you can pump up to 6 in theory.
I've heard people say that less than 1.5 ohm is too low for a Provari, but seems okay and if its over 3.5 amps, you get the error. The Precise with a good battery can definitely hit higher wattage with this set up though. Now I see rwechsler's rationale for all mechanical...
