Just an FYI for DIY e-liquid DIDer's. I just mixed up a batch of peppermint 100% vg and Koolada. This juice will not wick very fast at all I get 2 hits before a dry hit. All my other juices are 100% vg and wick fine so the only thing it could be is the Koolada. It just makes the liquid too thick.

In my opinion, 500 by far!

im using 400 mesh. 32 kanthal wire.. but i get burnt taste.. whats going on? is the mesh rolled too tight that it doesnt let juice move up??

Do you have the screw in the fill hole? If so, you may want to try it without the screw. I've never had a Genesis atty wick well without an open hole to equalize the pressure.

Been testing out a new wick/wrap combo and I have been getting some really amazing results! I am using #400 mesh with the kanthal that jim supplies with a 3/2 wrap on my provari at 3.7v. The wick is 4cm x10cm on the first drag I am getting LOADS of vapor/flavor and just the right throat hit for me.

I lightly jack frosted my wick then rolled it on a paperclip until it was just a bit smaller than the wick hole then did a few juice burns (3 or 4 I can't remember) then filled and vaped a whole tank of a really heavy juice. Next I removed the wick and coil, re-rolled my wick (with the crust from the old tank on). Next I did a juice burn of the remaining old juice and then torched where my wick would go, re trimmed it to fit just right. Not to close to the bottom and level with the top nut, then I wrapped my coil and adjusted until the whole coil glows bright orange. Then I filled and vaped! Wow! I think this may be my new method. This rendered NO errors on the Provari and mesured in right at 1.5ohms I may kick the voltage up to see if it changes the flavor too much or keeps it just right.

The more I experiment with my DID the more I want another one along with that sexy new mod jim made. Well looks like it is time to start saving my lunch money!

it sounds like you have a hotspot somewhere, empty your tank and pulse your device until your wick is dry and you can see where your hotspot is. Once you have that going right then try inserting a toothpick or something that will fit down your hole in your wick to make sure it is nice and smooth. After that is all good and you are still getting dry hits try re-rolling your mesh or a different number and length size mesh. Your juice may be too thick for the juice to travel up the mesh.

Hi,
on friday my satin-Gemini arrived, 10 days from order to delivery :)
After a quick rinse I put it all together, tried to decide which of the supplied meshes to choose, since they look and feel the same to me, rolled and oxydised a wick, made a coil (1.8 Ohm), put it all on my ProVari v1 and fired it up. Had a hotspot which burned the coil almost instantly :)
Next try went out better, solid uniform glow. Filled it with juice and started vaping.. Just WOW.. Taste is more crisp than ever before on any atomizer I used before. I use rebuildables since three years, started with a Bulli extreme and an A1, switched to Phantom and using an Odysseus since january as every day vape.
A comparison with my odysseus: Odysseus tastes more harsh or burned than the Gemini, Vapor is almost par.

But I'm facing the same problem as every Genesis-Rookie: wicking and hotspots. After my 3rd wick I came to point which works fine on a GG Stealth (+ extension for 18650) which wicks and vapes OK but could be better. I'm using a 230 mesh (63µ) I had laying around. This coil is thick walled, hollow (18G syringe), Jack Frost'ed and burned a second time after the final roll to get rid of any residue. The bottom is cut in a 45° angle. I think I have to work on my oxydation and coil-skills a little more :) The coil came out as 1.3-1.4 Ohm (3 turns).
After the lower section got hot while firing I pulled the wick a tad up and repositioned the coil a bit. The only thing; The top cap gets really hot while vaping. The wick is flush with the top nut, but I couldn't tell if it's not touching the screen in the top.

Anyhow, I'm that impressed that I've ordered a second DID + clear tank :)
(Anyone interested in buying a heavily used Odysseus?)
