New Genesis type atomizer by DID!

Sooo. I rewicked it a few weeks ago with 110mm of 400 mesh. That was roughly the last time I posted here, and we all jointly figured out that the tank has to breath, either via removing the fill screw, OR via the wick.
Well. I was too tired to mess with it any more, and I just vaped what I had.
I finally had some 28g kanthal show up, and it inspired me to pull my DID back out.
Here's what I changed:
110mm fat wick cut down to roughly about 80mm, so there is a LITTLE bit of an air gap around the wick. In the future I'll go for roughly 80mm of mesh and wrap it hollow just to be even more certain of 'breathability.'
Wrapped a 4-5 wrap of 28g kanthal around the (fat) wick for a roughly 1.6ohm coil.
Fired it up... and it works great. I can seriously slam the button (fill hole COVERED) and it never runs dry. I like the 1.5-1.7ish ohm coils because they run at about 8W with a standard 3.7 battery... and the 28g kanthal gave me that resistance with a reasonable number of coils / surface area. With my old 32g kanthal I could only do a 1-2 wrap on this fat of a wick, which didn't actually vaporize that much juice
I threw it on my passthrough (that has been REALLY neglected since I started vaping genesis devices exclusively)... laid it flat on my desk (because the passthrough has a WIRE coming out the bottom, you can't stand it up!)....
and it doesn't leak. At all.
This rocks! It's a semi-perfect device. It's definitely going to be my 'all the time' at home vape for now.
Now my wishlist (so I can replace my 'out and about' vape)
A DID D20 made out of aluminum or titanium for weight! A hybrid POLDIAC for said lightweight DID. Similarly made of aluminum or titanium.

Yeah, the 28 works great. I seem to get better wicking with the 28 vs the 30. Lower heat over a larger area is probably the cause.
No trouble at all! Managed to bring in my P+18650, P+16340, Standard DID, Mini DID, 2 mini 1.7Ω cartos (for stealth vaping in public with the P+16), GGTS, Penelope, 3 bottles of juice, and my mini vaping tool kit! Hopefully going to meet up with a friend from the forums sometime this week to setup his DID for him

wow burns like hell...I am always using 3 wraps of A1 30 AWG Kanthal the same vaping production

Is the 5 ml capacity good for you , at the same high as the DID? LOL
I could have over 7 at the same high with 22mm pyrex diameter as the POLDIAC Battery Holder is 22!
But I want to feel my pyrex protected so I need this SS costum at 22mm diameter with slices to see in!

You have to know that I will keep the parts of my collection compatible so you buy something that probably most of your parts will make the new one with some new spares! In 2 mounths from now we will have about 150 spares and we will transform them to something that we like! from battery holder,atomizers, hybrid.....
I ensure you that buying my products you keep playing with them with the next models that coming by purchasing some spares and not a hole new atomizer!
All this time that I vape I see my self buying one device and when a new was up I was trying to sell mine and get the new one orrrr WAITING FOR THE NEXT MODEL(WAIT,WAIT)
My point is clear, do not wait my next model buy the one you like now and if you want to try something deferent as a setup buy some parts!
I try to think as a customer I hope you like my filosofy so far!

I love the idea of the protected pyrex with the SS costume ;-) So for me 5ml is certainly great!
And as always I love your philosophy!
I don't think I will ever stop buying your products, they are works of art each and every one of them! (even if i order the wrong knurling, it still looks great in it self! LOL) The engraving of the top caps is so subtle and precise it is a pleasure to look at!
I will start saving up money for this Poldiac now!
edit to ask: are you making the slices in the costume in the shape of the Metal Madness logo?

5ml is perfect Jim for the DIDbrID, and Pyrex will be great with a ss slotted jacket
Those plastic tanks look great but can't take the heat of my dry burn setups LOL.
And I really love your philosophy with the interchangeable parts it's going to be like a DID Mechano set for discerning vapers
You are making the DID the Rolls Royce of genesis systems with service to match but without the sky high price tag. My only complaint is all this teasing and waiting
I absolutely Love this Idea and Philosophy Jim.
I have been looking for a proper Hybrid for some time made of Stainless Steel and they are indeed hard to find. Once you find them the price tag is so outlandish it isn't even funny.
After having used the Mini DID and the Short DID I am really excited about receiving my Gemini in the mail soon. I too will also be eagerly awaiting the arrival of the PODIAC Hybrid. It will be a thing of beauty and a wonderful monument to the Memory of your great Friend.
I got the Short DID yesterday and it is absolutely wonderful with a 4/5 Wrap of Twisted 32 AWG Kanthal and a fat 400 wick that completely fills the wick hole. I do still have the fill screw completely screwed in and there are no wicking problems at all
