No dice on the grippers. Idk what happened. Left it in the car for a few hours, came back and now it's stuck

you could try a pair of adjustable pliers with masking tape wrapped thick around the toothy parts so they don't scratch. If you could heat up the legacy cap (hot water maybe?) it may expand enough to release the 510 connector on the DID bottom cap.

I've wicked a standard and a mini with 3mm ceramic GG wick (never Nextel). doubled up top where the coil goes, single through the wick hole. Worked OK. Easy to wrap, obviously no shorts/hotspots and unfortunately no crisp/clean SS mesh flavor (was somewhat muted as expected).

Yeah the GG Wick is actually Silica if you got it from COV. I tried with the Ody on this stuff and I am not sure what I did but it came out to 81 Ohms!!!!!!!!!! Holy Criminy Crap Shoots!!! EIGHTY ONE OHMS!!! I think I screwed up a connection or something. I know that certain juices have a much better flavor with SS and others have their best flavor with SS Mesh. I have filled up the Mini and Penny several times with the same juice to see which one tasted best and it was about a fifty fifty split

What he Said :D It may very well work especially if you use masking tape because it is kinda tacky so it grabs the slick metal :D

Cloud has a point. Adjustable players, taped well. Rubber gloves maybe. Like latex? Silicon hot mats work. Sometimes even a simple kitchen towel or face cloth despite how slippery that sounds. If your grip is loose because of natural hand oils, that could help. Do you have leather gloves?

I bought the ceramic wick ......not something I am prepared to vape. Even as I was setting it up I got covered in fiberglass splinters, to experience the feeling get in your attic and roll around in so e fiberglass insulation, the Nextel is just as info for table. The particles were extremely tiny and I decided not to take the risk of inhaling this stuff. Small pieces come off. I torched the sucker forever too. It is also hard to work with because the braid doesn't hold then as soon as you cut the wick it unravels.
LOL That is for sure :D Kinda strange because the last time I built a wick and coil was the way you did it today. Then that method no longer worked so I had to try the other way and Bang instant success :D I am thinking of trying out this new Nextel Ceramic Wick in it next time I build one and see how that works out :D

Yeppers, like I said above I just got some Nextel Ceramic Wicking in and I want to test that out in the Mini DID and see how it tastes. I have torched the living daylights out of a piece of it already and it is ready to be placed in the wick hole as soon as this coil fails or the wick starts tasting funky :D

My did bottom cap is stuck to the top cap of my legacy.... Tips to get them apart? It's really stuck.

and then along comes opposite & backwards Uma with a tip to try. Take the battery out, and set the mod in the freezer. It works for some things, but I can't quite remember what those things are tbh. But, some one had problems taking their DID off their mod and the freezer trick worked, but I don't remember if there's more to it than that or not or for how long or anything else. I take no credit or blame....

Whew disaster averted! Tape and plier worked great! Is noaloxing the 510 connection bad? I don't want to have this problem again...

Oh whew!!! Good deal.
Yeh, a little bit of Noalox wiped back off real good is always a good thing unless you're talking to the opposite people, then it's not I guess. But most people are in agreeance with doing it. I do it on my Reo all the time. Maybe different mods call for different treatments or non treatments? Sounds like yours is a good candidate for treatment.

Okay, I found the post/discussion... MrAftrmath (the other fantastic photographer), posted: "anyone that have a stuck metal to metal mod / atty, just take the battery out, get all the juice out and put it in the freezer. the metal molecules will contract in cold enough that you can easily thread it out."

I got mine stuck on my PAPS the other day - I disassembled the DID, took 2 pieces of a cut down bicycle tube and two pipe wrenches - a quick hard twist and it came apart.

I hope this makes sense - english is not my first language so I don't know the special tool terms.

Hello fellow DIDers! Quick wick question! I'm still vaping on the first wick I rolled for my DID in late August. It's a champ but lately it seems as though flavor has dropped off a bit. In the interest of time saving, I am wondering if it's worth just flipping the wick instead of rolling a new one. My reasoning is that the end with the coil has gotten a bit too seasoned and since the other end is "clean" it will be like vaping on a new wick. Would the seasoned end hinder the wicking ability of the wick? Thoughts?
