I just happen to have a spare top cap laying around. And willing to sacrifice my mini base. Now just waiting on glass tanks and the new battery mod and I will throw in the Gemini tank.but I want the Gemini with the standard DID innards on top. I find the mini a pain to work with.
@overall, here is a quick link to the upside down DID gemini.

those fotos make me want a Gemini, I got a Gemini coming but want to buy a top cap DID D20 and bottom mini so I don't have to cripple my standard DID and the mini.;)

Hi Mono,

I've got my two topcaps (normal #255 and short DID #256) just last friday.
Just wondering why the serials are next to each other, because there was about 1 month in time when I orderd both original DID's (july - august)

b.t.w. the air holes are correctly lined up because a new base plate was also included :)

Is anyone still waiting for his top cap that was available a month ago?
Ive seen a few ty jim posts so im wondering.

Yeah, I am worried about setting up the Gemini too, It could be a pain for me bcos am using reading glasses!!!

The mini DID and Gemini really aren't that much harder to setup than the standard/shorty DID, don't let the small top cap intimidate you! Because the diameter of the + post nuts are so much thinner than those of the standard DID, I've found that it's actually a little bit easier to position the point of contact between your R wire and the wick. I'm going to talk to Jim about maybe releasing some shorter ground screws for the Gemini and Mini DID though, b/c the taller screws they currently use do make the process of actually wrapping the coils a little bit harder.

How does everyone feel about the new, taller ground and fill screws? If you have experience with the original Allen wrench equivalents, how do they compare? Even though the new ones are thumb screws and don't require a tool to tighten, would you rather they require a tool but make wrapping your coils easier? Do you notice any difference in the actual performance of your DIDs with the taller screws?

I love the new thumb screw in the fill hole. I do not like the thumb screw on the negative home. I am using the old type Allan wrench screws for the negative wire. It feels so much more secure.

I've used both and personally don't have a preference. I currently have the thumb screws on my DIDs. When I first got them, they seemed poor at holding the wire down so I found myself using plyers to tighten them down. Now, I'm not sure if the screw "broke in" (threads) or what but I can tighten by hand, although I usually have a small screwdriver in my hand at that point anyway so I give it a turn.
Performance wise, I see zero difference.
I think the biggest thing would be a key. For those that have several types of gennies.....one key for this atty, another slightly smaller or larger for another, etc. with that said, I wouldn't mind the short ground but maybe neither a screw top? It's make it more universal.
In the end, it's all in my toolbox anyway so reaching for another item is not a deal breaker.

JIM!!!! It looks UNBELIEVABLE!!! Not only is it by FAR the most beautiful 14500 mod (absolutely no competition, Temon stands alone as the most stunning of its kind), but the fact that it includes 3 different top caps and 2 switches is just amazing! Never have I ever seen a mod maker so dedicated to pleasing his customers and making devices focused towards pleasing as many people as possible!

I mean all of that without even considering how inexpensive the set is! The closet thing I can think of to how the Temon looks is the Caravlea (which is an 18*** mod mind you). As much as I love my Caravela, if you were to get one in a polished finish with 2 tubes, 3 top caps, 2 switch assemblies, AND a genesis atomizer (let's say a DID), you'd be paying approximately 400 euros!!!!!! Plus you'd have to wait around 3 months to get one xD

Jim, the longer I've had my DIDs, and with every new thing you come up with, I've realized that there's really only one thing that I dislike about you and your products...and it's that I make myself look like an idiot and a salesperson b/c I don't stop ranting and raving about how fantastic your devices are and how I think everyone should have at least one of your products ahahahahahahahah
I don't mean to kiss your ... here, but I really feel strongly that MMV is at the forefront of the PV world right now, and if things keep going as they have been, you're reputation and standing as the best of the best is only going to bolster itself. Congratulations Jim :)

Ahh, you make an excellent point! So short screw for the ground is better because it makes wrapping your coil easier and b/c it feels more secure when you lock it in, but the longer thumb screw is better for the fill hole b/c it makes it easier to remove it/put it back in when you're refilling your tank on the go and don't have any tools with you.

Well the wrench for the DID is the same as the + post on the Zen, so there's some level of compatibility for some people I suppose. I've been thinking about a screw that's the same size as the old Allen screw, but is either flat on the top or has a slit for a flat-head screw driver, and has the same knurling as the nuts on the positive post. That way you'd have the best of both worlds: no tools required (but optional if you want to really crank down on it with a screw driver) and it'd be short enough to not get in the way of wrapping your coil.

I like the thumb screws. Don't go messing with my thumb screws. They're poifect for me. Like YankeeBobo, at first they didn't want to set all the way, but now they are a cinch. Must have been a micro burr or something.

Yay! The little beauty has gone live!!!! That is such great news. Congrats Jim!!

haha, Rick! I come across as a salesman half the time myself, over Jim's products. I can't help it! We're hopeless, but happily so.
Dang these are nice and I can't wait for the big one. I'll be back for the little set after I'm squared away with the large one. Hubby is on standby. :)
