Oh my god Rick. I just had to change thank you. And I'm laughing because as I read this out loud for my wife to hear, her reply was "that kinda sounds like something you would do"
Amazing things happen don't they?

MY moment. I took the cap off mine, did similar cleaning process. Didn't go so well to cut the story short. I decided in the middle of all this I wanted a vape. Well.....I reached and took a hit......OFF THE ONE WITH NO CAP! Well, my lips weren't the same. And I had to admit how my lips got a burn mark. :face palm:

Lol,lol, great one. Ouch that must have smarted! Just gotta love when we do funny stuff. To this day, when i exit the train from work, my right hand goes to my left shirt pocket for a cigarette, I always laugh at this, but do it every time, even though I haven't smoked cigs in 10 years, ( switched to cigars before vape) oh man I hope I don't try a capless vape.

I lucked out and got one of theGreen's blemished BAM's for really, I mean super really, cheap. For now I'm running it with the regular 18650 battery until I pick up a Kick and a charger for the huge 25500 battery.

You can charge the monster batteries on the 6 bay x-star charger. Looks odd but works well. Don't bother with the kick and 26500, go with the 26650 MNKE batteries. They last forever. Then wrap either a 4/3 30awg coil or for high watt vaping wrap a 3/2 30awg (right at 1 ohm). I bought a kick to go with mine and didn't think it performed well at all.
Too late, I ended up with both sized batteries, but still no charger. I do have my old Trustfire 188 or whatever those numbers are, but think I'll splurge next payday for the X-tar S2 II or maybe a V2 nitecore intelli charger. The intellicharger kinda scares me though, because you have to alternate bays, and you have to alternate types of batts, or .... but other than that it's supposed to be oh so much easier because you don't have to select the mode... All mine are the same mode, so I think I'll sitck with the W2 Xtar or the one you mentioned, the X-star 6bay. So confusing! It would be so nice if my old TF 008 or whatever, would be okay.
Bummers about the Kick not working! I was really looking forward to trying one finally. I've put it off since it came out and finally decided to truely try for one. Big bummer.

The BAM also makes a great weapon. Could club someone really good with it.
Watch your lips with that drip tip.....can singe your lips.
haha, I think hubby was thinking the same thing because he suddenly pops up with "Honey, how much is that Gemini you've been asking about?"...
oh ouch, I'll be careful! So far so good though. (not chain vaping it so far, fortunately).

I know right! But for now my old Grizzly quad and purple hair will have to suffice. Maybe next year! :D

Oh good Lordie that must have hurt! Yet I can't stop laughing... because I almost did the same thing just the other day. Raised my atty up and fired the button for my habitual vape but just in time realized the cap wasn't on!

Well seeing as I was feeling like I'm on a roll with my setup method coiling, mesh etc,(plus I dropped my No.1 DID and got a short) I pulled a few of my gennies apart this evening and rebuilt the setups, I did both my DID stds 2 and my Mini DID, All are now sweet as after minial setup time and fiddling. I didn't have to use new mesh on any of them as the wicks were servicable , but a couple got new coils and most had the wick tension/mass reduced.
the main reason I'm mention it is because the Mini DId are now fashionably sporting it's fillhole screw & still wicking like crazy, and definitely absolutely not leaking at all, not even a tiny bit of weeping!!!! This is a big deal to me
so here's the Mini DIDs setup
8175174751_d75a751857_c.jpg

Semi solid wick #500 mesh 37.5 x 42.5mm no center hole rolled tight to 1.6mm then reverse rolled between fingers, loosened up to a final size of 2.0mm.
Made 5wrap 30g Kanthal A1 coil loosely on tooth pick inserted into wick hole attached top and bottom leaving tails, checked resistance at 1.3-1.4 Ohms, inserted 2.0mm wick into coil halfway, tightened coil by pulling on bottom tail and tightened ground screw. You know the rest.
Result; Great vape loads of vapor & flavor ,no dry hits as hard as I try,(felt sick trying) will run great on ego and mechanical mod, quite happy at 4-5 watts on the Zmax, although also great with more power and FILLSCREW IN FILLHOLE.

AHA Uma, I see you are also working on your emergency.getstuck.outofpower.outdoortravel-DIDsetup :)
Mine is charging right now, but wenn ready I'll show you.
Looks slightly, ieniewienie different though...:D
Can never be too ready these days... we live off grid and have more things to charge than carter has pills. So much for the laid back country life eh    . We're one flying tree limb away from no power at all, cuz once our solar panels crash, it'll be a good few years before we can replace the 3 big panels again. They're expensive boogers!
But now,, hey,, that little solar charger would help tremendously. I must get one, thanks for showing this!! I could vape on this all day. How long does it run when it's not charging? (how many backups to my backups would I need)

Wow. That looks like a mini DID on that mod. :D
Another use....portable generator.
 I know right! That BAM is huge! But yet it's so comfortable to hold in hand. It's a keeper.
Oh I wish! But one is on the priority list for us. The gas ones are outrageous for us at 5.00 bucks a gallon (4.99) so we hope to convert our old broken one over to either solar or veggie oil or both. (hopefully both)

Let me know how that ego pass through works. I have been eyeing it for a while now.
Ditto. It's so tiny. Is the button comfy?

:toast: Right on!! You DID it!! :vapor:
Thanks for sharing this, it's going to help a lot with purposeful rolling. (I'm still a guesstimator).

I guess you mean the second one, since their both pass through ;)
I think its good and bad...

It's deffinitly saves batterylife and although not really VV, you have some choice.
I also like to use it while driving.
No battery change and if I drop it I simply pull it up by the wire.

Thumbs down:
The size!
Even with small hands the thing is too tiny and uncomfortable.
But I have a nice piece of Balsa-wood on the shelf to make a kind of grip with a pleasant button.
Nice job for one of the coming cold winter-evenings.

The button:
And I hate eGo-buttons...after a while they hurt.

I never use it on my computer (don't like to risk anything with it)
But it needs a 2A output plug to work, both the electicity plug as well as the car-charger.

How long does it run when it's not charging?

Going to test it all next week, I'll let you know.

Here is a Peek at the coil I have set up in my Short DID :D Me Likes it a Lot :D

32 AWG Kanthal twisted together into one wire and a 4/5 Wrap = 1.4 Ohms Perfect for Vaping on my Provari :D

My DID is set up exactly the same way..It took me a min to get the coils lighting up evenly but now it is pretty awesome!. Hopefully this will last me all week. I am going to Italy next week for a business trip!

I agree, I think it should last you quite some time. They seem to be virtually indestructible. What I have found is that the tighter the twist, the less shorts there are on initial setup and the faster it breaks in. Also it seem to me to make it much easier to wrap if it is a good an tight twist of the wires together. I have also discovered that a dry burn is very easy for the coils on these because if you wimply remove the wick from the center and then dry burn it a few times it gets clean very very fast. My Wick is just barely touching any of the wires of my coil so it is very easy to remove and just burn the coils. Rinse the wick and then hit it with the torch to dry it and remove any excess carbon and gunk. Replace it and refill the tank for a fresh start and a perfect vape every time.

This was possibly the easiest setup I have done so far, I took 2 feet of kanthal wrapped it around a handle tied a knot in the other end and chucked it into my drill and a few short blasts later I had some twisted kanthal. It was a pretty tight wrap. I forgot that your resistance went down by half so my first 3/4 wrap was too low to register on my provari. So I wraped a 5/6 and it was beautiful but I had a few hot spots so I torched my wick after removing it leaving the coil in place and on the first burst of power caught the coils on fire! after that I just kept pulse firing until the coil was no longer silver, re-installed my wick and adjusted the coils until they were firing evenly.

The vapor is a little lower than what I am used to but the flavor is amazing! On a juice (spiced cookie by Altcig) I have been vaping for a few days the cinnamon was killing me, now I can taste more of the cookie and some other elements. I am actually using less juice but the flavor is great so I am not complaing. I have been using the same wick for about two weeks now and it is showing no signs of quitting at all and holds about .5ml of juice. (4mmX100mm are my dimensions and I rolled it around a 16ga filling needle so it fills the wick hole and gives me a channel for the tank to breathe through)

After seeing the picture of your coil it inspired me to wrap another one to do some more testing. I have 28, 30 and 32 ga wire. I haven't tried the 28 yet and don't know if I will due to being too low of ohms for the provari. I did a 5/4 wrap of the 32 ga and it came in at 2ohms with or without the wick being in there. It is the most even glowing I have managed to get on a coil.

I have figured out though that my wick is still too fat to allow proper wicking with the fill hole plugged. I am going to make another wick that isn't as fat so it can get some room to breath around the sides and it should also get the ohms closer to what you have. I gotta say though the thicker gauge wires make for some pretty coils.

OPINIONS NEEDED!!
The magnets make the button feeling allmost like tuch button!
it is very soft! But I love it!
I think that many people will not feel good at list at the start of using it!
I can make changes now!
so do you think that I must find a way for the button to move magnets and put a spring :Medium/Soft.
or you like soft and I go on? lol

I don't mind a soft button! As long as the action is smooth and it's reliable its fine with me, though I'm sure some would appreciate adjustability. I am of the mindset that fewer springs are better, as it's one more thing to break/stretch. Can't tell you how many times I've almost stepped on the spring to my legacy, and I'd be up a creek if I had to order another one.
