Not sure, I don't measure out my mesh. It's a thin, hollow wick though. I'd say its 3 layers thick around a 14g syringe, which is what I have in 90% of my genis at the moment.

ok, I made different one's and find that thin wicks tend to not keep up for long, they become brittle. Too thick and you end up with poor wicking, on the DID mini the 80 mm rocks, big hole and still sturdy.

I'll try that out next time I setup a new wick. I agree that thin wicks wear out relatively quickly, but so far, I get the best flavor, vapor, and wicking from them, so that's just what I've stuck with for the past 6 months or so.

Did related. I think I have issues :)

So last night i get to Dallas at 9pm( delays broken plane) crew bringing it in to moline. Not me. Lol.
So I only have one day off, today, before I start a 12 day training event .,
I have so much packing laundry to get ready. But what to I do first.
Well during my 4.5 hour bike ride home. Im vaping my did on the ego. It's just not hitting right. Make the ride feel like forever. All I'm thinking about is how I need to get my telescope working, mixing my juice for the time away. So I get home at about 1:30
Get some loving. Sleeping buy 1:35. :). Maybe 2. I am Italian.
Wife leaves at 6:30 for work. I still exhausted but
I get up. Torch, bolts, nails, drill come out I get to work.
Fix the telescope switch. Wrap a coil. Using the drill bit method. My first time. Seems to work. Back vaping like it should be. Now time to make some go juice.
Laundry packing we will see if I have time. Lol

Got my Temon today with the Temon Atomizer...nice looking device...my spheroid looks nice on it too :)
Using Kanthal 0,20mm....5/4 wraps
I am testing right now. I have not the amount of clouds as my standard DID has.I´m thinking about to drill out the airhole to 1,2 mm.
on my standard DID I am using 30 AWG Kanthal.Making a wick with this Kanthal in the Mini DID does not produce clouds enough for me.
What I did too is replacing the srew in the top connector with a longer one without the spring. For me it has better contact , more energy is going to the atomizer.

@Jim thx for doing this good job .........and making such nice vaping devices for us.....:)

@rwechsler is the GOD of DID ...hehehe don´t know what the master does producing such clouds :)

I have a question, I'm considering getting a mini DID for a pipe I just bought. I'm wondering how to phrase this clearly.

With my DID on my pipe, I want the wick hole to be towards the bottom of the tank, airhole to point downward. If I buy a did and screw it on and the wick and airhole do not fall where I want them to, i.e. pointing up/to either side, will I be able to adjust it to postion them the way I want?

I guess people with DID's on Provari or side button devices might relate, can you line up the button to the airhole/wick hole easily? Without taking the top off of the provari?

ps Hi monty,

There will be a tiny bit of adjustment room with tightening or loosening the top on the DID. I would put the DID together but not make that final twist of the top and bottom caps until you have the DID on the pipe. Then do the final tightening stopping in your preferred position.

ps Hi monty,
It's easy to do with the Mini DID! First thing, after putting the tank on it, screw it into your pipe and make note of where you want the wick hole to end up at. Take it back off, hold the knurl part of the tank and twist the tank part around until the wick hole lines up where you want it. Test and retest as needed until it's perfectly positioned. Finish putting the MINI DID together, tighten down the center post, coil your wick, fill er up and you're good to go.
(p.s. It's always a good idea to make sure your air hole is lined up with your wick before setting it up, even though 99% of the DID's are perfect, there is always a chance of being the one in a million and having an offset one. Test airhole to wickhole first I guess).
Have fun!

Ian, you should have send a pm and ask, now people will all know you are some dumb ... ;-)

You're right, as they say, It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

I don't think me asking questions like that will change anyone's opinion, you wooden shoe wearing old ........

Thanks for the answers overall and Uma, appreciate it.

Just a quick note on Jim's Drip Tips. I got a couple SS Umbrella style for my D20's and also picked up a couple of the Delrin tips. The SS Tips are absolutely beautiful and fit perfectly, but the real surprise is the Delrin tips. While SS looks great, I must admit that, for me at least, Delrin feels better on the lips and teeth. These Delrin tips are freakin' awesome! Best looking, fitting and feeling drip tip I've ever used.
Thanks Jim!
