Uma brings up an interesting point. The position of the wick hole relative to the button. In a perfect world, you would be able to adjust the placement so that when vaping, the wick is at the bottom allowing for better wicking. On the Poldiac, will the wick hole end up wherever it ends up?

The Mini DID lets me line everything up right wherever I want it to. The DID20 possibly can. I haven't tried the DID20 yet, I keep forgetting to play with it between refills. I discovered the MINI DID's cooporative manner by accident while I lined up the engravings. That was a sweet surprise! I hope the other attys will have the same behaviours. (maybe I didn't set my MD up right to begin with, maybe I have an o-ring where one shouldn't be? lol. I do have that tendency with o-rings come to think of it).

How long is the shipping time for Australia lately? anyone know?

Pre order on 15/12, ship on 20/12..........I m flying away for holiday on 22/12 for 6 weeks oversea. I don't think the Poldiac would be with me on these timing!!! Urrgggg.

Should I cancel my long awaited holiday for the Poldiac?

I couldn't agree more! Besides for the Poldiac, there's only ever been one genesis hybrid with a side mounted button, and that is the Orion. If you've seen my review of the Orion v2.1, then you'd know that I really hated how my button didn't line up with the airhole, but the button was tiny relative to the POLDIAC button, and I do have some meat hooks for hands...but even so, I'm really glad that Uma brought that up!

In a perfect world, the AH will line up with the switch in both the top and bottom mounted switch positions, and for all of the different sizes of battery tubes that you order with your Poldiac. Unfortunately, this isn't a perfect world, and with my finite knowledge of the machining process, I know that it's going to be an extremely laborious process to make that a reality! Just getting the airhole to line up with the button in 1 button orientation on 1 tube would entail milling the wick hole, ground screw, top cap airhole of the DID only after the hybrid bases had been tapped and then threading them onto the switch housing so he could precisely plan it all out. Actually, I think it might be impossible, which is by no means Jim's fault, it just might literally be IMPOSSIBLE! The only solution I can think of would entail totally re-engineering the top plate assembly, but that presents a whole new slew of design challenges to tackle, none of which I care to go into. Time to start brainstorming with Jim I guess!!!

I would take lot of photos with the Poldiac/Did/Gemini while I am oversea and post them here so you and the DID family know where the DID been to, I promise.

I whole heartedly agree here. :)

I've got the regular DID....20?? I guess!! I played around with aligning the air hole/wick with the button...Had it the first time and somehow it got off during the coiling/wick process...The second time was the charm...All three in alingnment allows a thumb fire with a clenched fist grasp...

Coiling I'm getting pretty dang good at....Running 30 @ 2.1ohms on the Pro-Vari....Wraps I'd have too count..Not gonna happen!! I tried some 28 and couldn't get the Pro-Vari too play...I'm good with the 30 and may even re-visit the 32 someday...

Wick wise I went with 85mm by whatever ended up even with the post...I didn't get too carried away oxidizing and everything came out fine...Jack Frosted that SS!!!!!!! Tried not too wrap it too tight...just where it went in thru the coils...It still takes a bit of tilting too perform as desired...Thinking about trying a 100mm wick next...It's approaching vaping Nirvana....With a little more experimentation I should be there...Wish me luck...Given the amount of experimentation going on in the wick world....I'm not alone in my quest...Good luck with the tubes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jim, can you take a picture of the Poldiac while holding it in your hand, so we can see the dimentions? Thanks. :)

p.s.
I love the old greek style font of the letters on it, super cool. If Zeus was a smoker, Poldiac would be his personal mod lol. ;)

Thank you!!!!!

WOW I miss reading the forum for a day or 2 and man I had a lot to catch up on!

Jim the Poldiac looks stunning in each and every detailed picture you post! I can't wait to get my hands on one! Unfortunately I have to save up first so I don't think I will be able to order one this month. Will they be available for a while, or is it some sort of limited edition?
