I don't think the kick works below 2 ohms ;-). When I run my DIDs or my AC9, I go pure mech at 0.9-1.1, but when I'm not in the mood to tinker, my kick + boge LRs and my Siam mod tanks are my trusty backups.

If thats the case Kick will not suit my needs either, I am happy with results around 1 & 1.4 ohms. So I guess I need to take past advice + some experimentation and learn how to drive Poldiac to suit my needs.
I have plenty to play with, mesh, wire I mean:)

Hey guys, I was wondering about this battery. Batteries : AW Protected 18650 3400 mAh. Please let me know if you think its any good. Thanks.
They are Panasonic NCR18650B batteries and have a max discharge rate of 6.8 amps. Here is the same battery in button top. 3400mAh Protected Panasonic 18650 battery cell by Orbtronic
They are a bit longer than AW's but should fit in the Poldiac. I believe that the AW's can handle 10 amp discharge rates. I'm sure "someone" will correct me if I'm wrong.

First and foremost take care of yourself and sorry to hear about your grandfather.
Pains in chest area no good , my brother Anthony was only 43 and Dad was 76 now just me.
Hope you have good doctor that takes care of you in need.

Now when you get well and totally well i'll be dancing in the streets to get a 5ml capacity DID

It's a good IC battery but doesn't have the same high max discharge current that IMR 18650s have (I think they are 5.2A where the IMR is 10A). They are straight Li Ion so not safe chemistry (Like IMR - LiMn) but do have protections circuits added for safety. I'd only use them if I were wrapping above 1.2ohm coils (or a regulated mod).

Thoughts and prayers Jim. Loss is never easy. In those moments I like to think our loved ones have gone to a better place (hopefully somewhere they serve endless beer and 0 calorie cheeseburgers). Thinking of you and your family, get yourself well buddy!

@jim - condolences to you and your family. 90 is a grand age, and I'm sure your grandfather lived a full life. I'm sure he's proud of you, simply because of the way you have touched and changed so many people's lives. :)

Agreed, and feel exactly the same with the kick. Bought it because I was curious on what it could do. Does an awesome job of making used boge's taste like new again, but otherwise, the batteries, even when new, don't last so long on it because the cutoff starts kicking in early. Try running 30 or 28 awg coils. I'm on 5 weeks now on my 4/3 28 coil and only slightly need to readjust for hotspots when I dry burn. I dry burn every other tank full and clean my mesh with water, sometimes reoxidize and it's working out okay so far. My 32 awg coils are lucky if they stay a week without popping!

There's a forum member whose husband makes GREAT looking drip tips. They're all hand-made in his workshop here in NM. Check out their work and give them some business. Some tips are lathed from acrylic blanks(like pen-making), others from exotic woods. The woods are hard-coated inside and out so they won't absorb flavors/liquids.

They're really nice people. If you see something you like, Kayte will try to find something similar if possible. They're all one-of-a-kind and highly collectible. I've bought several lately. She posts them online as he gets them ready. People jump on 'em so you have to be quick, or just keep re-visiting until you catch something you like.

Here's a link to the past tips they've sold the last couple of months.

Here's a page near the start of the thread so you can see people's responses as they get posted:
