Hahahaha
same issues worldwide with wifes!!
We allways have something to play with. (hey I mean a hobby) hahaha
Maria was cool with that ! (I am lucky too)
RC was my last hobby!! (the baja is collecting dast)
When I was ready to leave the house with my toy after hours of setup the nitro engine (strange motor) and fix the damages from last play, she was wishing the best ! Here comes the yankeebobo: She's happy and that means you're happy. and the oposite!!

Isn't it washing soda that reacts with aluminum to clean silver?

Does bi carb or baking soda do it too?

RC
After doing a bit more research, it appears that you are correct! While Baking Soda (sodium bicarbonate) will be slightly effective, Washing Soda (sodium carbonate) is the proper product for the job. Also, according to what I've read, the hotter the water is, the better this works. I guess it's off to the laundry section of the grocery store for me.
Thanks for pointing this out.

Hey Jim! Nice to hear RC was your hobby too. You should try electric on road! We are racing end of this month in Bangkok where I will bring the Poldiac :). The biggest RC race in Asia, around 700 entries across 5 classes! Http://titc.in.th.

After even more research, it appears that either Baking Soda or Washing Soda can be used. There is a lot of conflicting information about this process on the internet.

I had to walk into the kitchen and check what i used.
I am currently using the sodium bicarbonate and it does the job just fine.
I will get some of the sodium carbonate tomorrow and see how that works.

This video made me smile the biggest smile from ear to ear from start to finish! Thanks for sharing!

haha, me too! I'm so happy for him. (and for Jim too!!).
It was CloudWizard's pulsating to heal the coils that really helped him to succeed. Hats off to CW for sharing this with us here on the thread, it's gone world wide.

Niiice!!
You lucky !!!! lol
And the Poldiac happy too!!
haha

lucky because I am near! Would love to race in the Euro Touring Series, but Europe is just too far and expensive to carry all my RC gear! If airport will give me problems, will bring my DID but on a different mod. Don't want the Thai customs to confiscate my Poldiac!

that's awesome Tony! Always held flyers in high regard! I'm having a difficult time already controlling 2 channels, what more with 4!?! Tried an RC flight simulator once and crashed everything so stuck to surface toys :).

Vaping is way cheaper than any kind of RC hahaha! But my problem now is I'm vaping and playing RC at the same time! Poor bank account :-(

This may be an obvious thing for most but I was getting battery rattle with some of my shorter AW IMW 18650s. Easy fix was to stiffen the bottom cap spring by using 2 springs (already had extended the bottom contact as far as I thought I should). I simply polished the spare that came with my Poldiac and twisted the 2 of them together and then inserted back into the bottom cap as normal. Might just be in my head but seems to hit harder too. (as always YMMV)

I have not read every post in the past week. I am getting over a nasty head cold. If this has been addressed disregard. Here goes.
Cleaning and re-assembling the Poldiac button.
The magnet attached to the delrin button came off in my hand. The sticky gel does not hold the magnet well. Im sure this is being addressed.
This made it nearly impossible to re-set the magnet inside the assembly. So I did the following. This also assures the polarity is correct. With the delrin/button magnet not attached to the delrin properly, the sheer force of the magnets pull the back one off. Then you are left holding 2 magnets in 1 hand and a button in the other.
Try this. It made is easy as pie.

Hey Ken, the external magnet to align to internal is a good catch . I had the same issue you had with the magnet coming off the Delrin post in the button. I had enough adhesive left to hold mine long enough to get it back in but I haven't washed that part even once because I'm afraid it'll remove the little sticky that's left. I started looking around for other stuff that would hold better but seems Delrin is pretty slick stuff. I'll have to look through my junk drawer, I think I have some of that sticky putty (hole-less tacks) somewhere which may work.
