I have a Klien (albeit your's is the grown up version). Tony's right about the leads, but it's auto-ranging so you only need to select V or ohm (hmm, no ohm symbol on iPad). Sometimes if it's jumping around I hold the leads together and it will zero itself.

Nice rig. Wish I had one. How about Dc and ac. Do you have to select. I snapped at shot of the manual he may have to do that. I would go to manual mode for sure maybe get more detail readings.

Yep it's in the right hole. (That's what she said! Sorry had to.) I'm using the roach clips... I mean alligator clips. And I'm switched to the right settings. Just don't know what's up. I can get the battery voltage just fine. Reading a steady 4.190 off the charger. I'm gonna have to try to test something other than my poldiac tomorrow to determine if it's user error, bad meter, or a short.

Hi everyone, after a bit of lurking on the MM Vapors site, I have finally joined the MM crew, and I am stoked. I ordered a Poldiac BTO today along with a D20. I went with polished top, polished button, and polished button with satin tubes, satin shirt, and satin pants. I'm having second thoughts that I should have gone with polished tubes, but I am as excited as I can be either way. Therie are so many options! Time to UPS stalk.

Shoot em an email, it may not be too late to change it.

That is the same setup I have tho and it is really sharp.

Actually each setting has a secondary and some a tertiary setting. Think of a scientific calculator with the fn button. Volts for example has one setting on the dial but if you hit the select button you can change it from AC to DC voltage. Took me a min to figure that one out.

. But if you are getting ol that means you exceeded 1000 volts . Since you are running // you should not be reading amps. 10 max. You need a shunt to do that or run in series. Try testing something else. I know you want to wait until tomorrow. But I need to know. :) now.

Ok so I am thoroughly frustrated so I'm turning to you fine people to help me out. Hey I'll at least get to vent. I just got my 1st multimeter today. (I know about time right.) I got this one. Klein Tools MM1000 Electrician's Multimeter:Amazon:Home Improvement Well I'm having issues, lots of them. I'm testing a 4/3 wrap of 28g Kanthal and I'm getting readings jumping all over the place when trying to get the ohms. When I can get a reading it's at like 1.6 to 1.7 ohms. From reading I was expecting right around 1ohm.

Also when trying to test voltage under load I'm getting an OL reading which I have found out means "over load". Is this what a short looks like on a multimeter? If so I'm stumped. My wick is well seasoned. It's over a month old. My coils have no hot spots. It's not hitting the bottom of the tank or either posts. And above all else it tastes fine.

Keep in mind this all depends on if I'm actually using the damn thing properly but I think I am. Could it be a bad multimeter?

I use the exact same setup. I believe its 0.8 ohms but it hits like a champ. I haven't used my multimeter since my poldiac came in.

I know this will come off wrong. But I am a fairly educated man. I made some good money in my day. So I could afford better things. There is not always a correlation with price and quality and most important lasting quality. But in this case with mmvapors it is. In addition I always went against the grain and made decisions based on facts not popularity. What I am trying to say is for the most part people don't really make good choices or give good advice. I see this on the Facebook wick and wire page When Mmvapors stuff gets posted people ignore it. But post some 15 dollar crap and wow. All I read is I want one I want one.
Yes drinking again :)

Yea and Todd's video. Saying the price was too high. The same people buy 125.00 piece of crap every 6 months. But 150 forever lasting unit is too much money
so short sighted. Also the poldiac is not a plug a play unit. It requires some additional thinking to get it work as the best pv you have to turn 2 screws a 1/2 turn.
You may need to make sure the shirt is lined up. This is complicated stuff. Better not buy that. Lol. Another down fall is it looks so good people are afraid to use it as a every day vape so silly.

I buy and sell lots of high end gear in the classys. I know within 2hrs weather or not an item is going to be a keeper or not, or if its a maybe. Anything that's an immediate keeper becomes an all day vape. Everything else gets treated as if it's a rental that needs to be returned in the same condition, if not better than when I got it.

The Poldiac was a keeper from the very first blast!

The only problem I have with the Poldiac is that my wife snatched it from me as soon as I wrapped a coil on it. I'm hoping the new will wear off for her, and that I will be able to reconfiscate it soon. Actually, what I will probably do is buy her some mod I dont want, but play it off like I really, really want it. Then, when she snatches that one, I'll get the Poldiac back.

Funny. I take my did and my gemini with me. As soon as I get home from a trip my wife say. Do you mind if I use the did. :). She screws up my battery charging rotation.

I definitely know the feeling. My wife knows and wants to know nothing about cleaning mods or coils, much less how to properly coil a wick. Sometimes she come to me and say, "babe, this isn't tasting good," and I will pull off the top cap to see the nastiest, most gunked up coil ever. I mean, like a mm of crud on the coils. I'll show hr how to fix, and a week later, she'll come back to me with the coild the same way. LOL, gotta love em.

   You're living in a fantasy world Bubba. She ain't ever going to let that Poldiac go, I can tell you that right now. My advice? Get real, say "Happy Valentine''s Day Sweetheart!!" and head back over to MMV and start selecting the clothes for your new one.

I give my wife the stink eye when see asked to take a drag off my GP when we are out. Keeps her thinking a little before she asks.

Took my Poldiac out again today. Been my all day since I got it.

Anyhow, I kept getting all the stranges looks. I just couldn't figure it out. I started to question if I didn't comb my hair, if I had different colored socks on...

Well, finally someone clued me in.

I forgot to dress my Poldiac! Left the pants and shirt at home. DOH! My poor baby was out in the world nakid.

I just had an "Genesis Epiphany" of my own! I've been wrapping 4/3 coils forever with either 28awg or 0.24mm ribbon kanthal and getting a consistent 1.1Ω. While the vape would blow my socks off with a freshly charged battery, when it got down to 3.6 to 3.7v it just wasn't good enough so I'd change my battery. I just took a coil off my 0.24mm ribbon and tried a 3/2 which metered at 0.85Ω. WOW is all I can say! Why did I not try this before! Spectacular!
