ROFL!! Well, that person wasn't alone... Before the video, I was anxious enough to puke and I'm sure that person was too. Even with the written tutorials, it was ... stressful to visualize.... especially with talks about magnets flipping, pieces flying, glue, all mixed in with our imaginations. But those are "part 2" video.. right? pretty please part 2 . :)
Nope, Still a dirty gal. I have to wait til tomorrow for the glue.
wait, I don't need the glue.
When do I need the glue???? :rolleyes: at self

Okay, wait guys. I know of a thread about Brushing. I'll go have a read & try to report back with anything that might help you out. Sound good? Hang in there.

Part 2. What more do you need to see? I'll make it just tell me what you want. I do the magnet flip for you. You don't need glue that's only if the magnet come off.

I think what has happen to most is when they took the switch out the magnet flipped and and stuck to the other causing you to separate them. They attract very strong so while trying to separate them you pull it off the switch. If this happens to you. Use a thin piece of plastic to separate them don't try to pull it off. You will pull both off. Even if that happens the glue will hold it again.

Just toss the magnet in the hole. And use the other magnet on the outside to flip it the put the switch in like I did in the video.

will try this out - am a bit worried about the amount of brass that will come off though.

hey CW, this for steel or brass clothes? For my steel ones, I do like you and results are great, but for brass in the tropics like the Philippines, where I'm from, the polish lasts only for one day due to the humidity and unavoidable sweat in my hands :-( so polishing the brass has to be a regular thing...

Sry, I have SS so don't yet have experience with the brass. There was a post on the MMV Facebook page where someone actually used a torch to create an antique patina look or earlier in this thread someone used clear lacquer spray on freshly polished tubes to create a permanent guard/coating. I don't think I'd want ot have to keep resurfacing my shirt/pants so would polish and eventually would just be polished. If you want to keep the satin finish, RWeschler and DSpin are the resident metal finishing experts, maybe they'd have some advice.

Tony

Now do it blind folded with a box of all kinds of random atty parts like we used to have to do with a .45, M16 and M60

Blogged for future reference. Succinct and helpful tutorial - much appreciated the brevity. All it was missing was the implied subtitles "Quit your whining, you buncha crybabies".

I did lol with this one. I think I will play up my reputation on the next one. Like the old crazy Eddie. Yes I was in pain with the crybabies :) did it show. Lol

Yea my son starts sniper school next week! what fun.

Tony

God bless you and your family. As a Dad you've gotta be proud and scared all at the same time. I trained with the snipers when I was at Ft. Campbell. I was on the 101st ABD Combat Rifle team and we shared a range (so got to do some cross-training with them). We used to call them a long distance phone as a reference to that old commercial "Reach out and touch someone". They're a dangerous bunch...

Good morning...thought I'd pop in and update...mini DID still missing, I guess it really DID get thrown out :(

I am heartbroken - seriously.
Just a thought as i have dogs , if you have a cat or dog it could have taken it and hid it somewhere in the house under a bed etc.

I've tried to set my DiD up with unoxidized mesh today.
Had a little hotspot problem, but got it to work eventually. Superb taste and vapor, but only for 4-5 seconds at a time. 'll Just try a little more, so it will become perfect.

Setup=400 mesh, twistet 0,20 3/2 coil

Anyone have experience with unoxidized mesh in DiD? would be great with a little help to achieve perfection.

Link to a video, ikarus hybrid, unoxidized mesh and unisolatet ikarus.
Video - TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting
Ive tried unoxidixed mesh as i saw it done on the UK forum in a video where kanthal is wrapped on it and then fired in short bursts eventually each individual coil oxidizes the mesh on which it sits(burns into it) but any movement of coils afterwards such as a cleaning will create a short, it worked but hard on the battery but had to try it to see if it could be done .

I oxidize my mesh with a stove and just today tried oxidizing just the top half of wick and the very bottom of wick and leaving the middle unoxidized it works well and coil is very stable at 1.5 ohms going on second tank full.
Here you can view what it looks like.

Thanks CW; i've thought of doing the clear lacquer or clear sticker to preserve the finish. The moment I put brass in my hands it starts oxidizing!!! I guess cold weather climates are more forgiving. And to top it off, heavily oxidized brass has a mettalic smell that sticks to my hands hahaha! Will do a bit more research before I do anything. Brass being pretty soft is worrisome to work with.

Looks cool man! Long time no see, you back for a bit?

Hey there my Friend;

Yeah I am off for three days so I actually got a chance to get a few things done. I have been working 12 to 18 hour days on the ship so it has been hard to get on and socialize due to the schedule. We are trying to get that ship back in working order and make sure all the work that was done is going to work properly one item at a time because that way they can fix what does not work as we go.

But yeah these setups are working spectacular thus far. Really getting great Voltage throughput from both of them, almost no loss whatsoever :D

I am back to work and off the grid again come Tuesday though. We were supposed to be coming off the ship for a few months in like two weeks but now that is not gonna happen. We don't know when we are going to turn it over to the other crew now. Hopefully soon.

Sincerely;
Nate

Wow, that sounds like a tough schedule. On the plus side, sounds like you got your "vape on"! When you do get a chance to get a hold of a Poldiac, you're gonna love it!

Welcome home (even if only for a few days)!!!

It is a very tough schedule my Friend, this break was very much needed. Luckily we are nearing completion of this forever project and our ship will be back to normal soon. I just can't hardly wait to get it out to sea and test out some of the changes that were made. The hardest part is getting it all ready for that.

I am very excited about the Poldiac myself, I had been watching and patiently waiting for it and then the schedule for us got changed so there was no way I was able to get it purchased. Now I just have to wait for them to be in stoock at the right time in the right arrangement so I can get the one I want. That is the hard part since I want an all Polished one as it will be housing my Polished Gemini Atty.

Hope everyone is starting the day well and has a great day today :D
Sincerely;
Nate

View attachment 179696 Hi Nate!!!! It's good to see your smiling font again finally.

HEHEHE Hi UMA!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Yeah I am so happy about this three day weekend. Technically for me it was 2 1/2 days because I had duty overnight on the ship Friday and woke up there Saturday to turn over to my reliefs but I got most of Saturday off and got to go up and visit my Friend at my favorite Brick and Mortar :D Then yesterday checked out a new Brick and Mortar closer to me and that is where I picked up the two beauties up there. I measured the curvature on the one the Gemini is on and it's beveled connector is pretty dead on with the bevel of the Gemini. I think that is pretty cool, even though I LONG FOR MY POLDIAC!!!! LMAO

I been back in the kitchen creating new things lately as well to be devoured by the Fam LOL One of which is BB Meatloaf, (Bacon and Bison Meatloaf) ZOMG!!!! It was an EPIC WIN!!!

Hope you are having a great day today my Friend :D
Sincerely;
Nate
