Oh Yeah, I had wrapped my Standard DID with it earlier and liked it so much I ripped off a perfectly good 32 AWG coil to try this stuff out on the Gemini. I am definitely NOT disappointed :D:D:D:D After a few hours of heavy vaping and about a half a tank it is nice and broken in now and is tasting even better than it did when I first got it wrapped :D I imagine it will only get better from here too as the coil seasons up :D

It sure will and last for ages too, did my 8th wick clean and coil dry burn today, will never run out of 0.6 flat. The amazing thing is that its been running @ 1 Ohm since I wrapped no fluctuations at all:)

Yeah I have noticed that as well, the Ohms are extremely stable with this stuff. Usually a 32 or 30 AWG coil will fluctuate by like 0.1-0.3 ohms right of the bat and then settle down and start to either rise or fall steadily over time. This one measures right at 1.2 and stays there. The one on my Standard DID measures at 1.4 and stays put as well. This stuff is really really a very good thing for the Genesis Atomizers for sure.

here's some info from Temco on ebay...
would either of these be good?

Kanthal D

Gauge Ft/lb. Diameter Ohms/ft. @ room temp
26 1602 0.0159 in. (0.40386 mm) 3.21
36 16207 0.0050 in. (0.12700 mm) 32.5
Resistance

The more wire you have, the greater the resistance. The factors that affect resistance are:

Diameter: The thinner the wire (higher gauge number), the higher the resistance per foot. The thicker the wire (lower gauge number), the lower the resistance.
Length: The longer the wire, the higher the overall resistance. The shorter the wire, the lower the overall resistance.
Temperature: The more heat the wire generates, the more resistance it will create.

Manufacturer: Kanthal Sweden

max continuous operating temperature: 1300°C ..... 2372°F

resistance at 20°C: 29.3 Ohm/m ..... 8.93 Ohm/ft

width & thickness: 0.6mm * 0.1mm / 0.024" * 0.004"

alloying elements: Cr 22%, Al 4.8%, Fe remains.

I underlined the answer to your question, also the Fe that remains acts as an insulator. The way I read this is that after dry burning enough it should if loosely wrapped on wick be good enough insulator for a slightly oxidised wick as mine is. Some please correct me if wrong.

Have a look here.....zivipf.de for good information and supply hope this helps! Also at top of the page are some flags click on the UK one and all will be in English.

I am using 0.7 from Here, the most popular that alot of folks are using is 0.6 from Here. Have fun!

G'day Hoey, your second url is same as the one I posted above. Q how did you make the url appear as Here? thought it quite nifty as they don't like links here and elsewhere.

The center post inside the tank is actually part of the negative side. The pin inside the post (which is insulated from the post itself is positive. That being said, if the wick is properly oxidized, it won't matter what it touches. If your wick is straight it shouldn't come close to touching the post inside or outside the tank.
Hope that helps.

thanks Pete, it does help.
I am dealing with a 19mm diameter Geni that has the wick hole dangerously (imo) close to the pos post (1mm if that) and even in the tank wick touches the center. The pos post up top has some washers under the top screw head that stick out too, so its a bear to keep it from touching...

Hey uke, I hear ya! Some genny's are a bear to get up and running. That's kinda why I stick to fatties :p. 20mm is as small as these old eyes can handle and I'm trying to snag some 22mm ones while I wait for Jim to come out with his. I will tell you this, all genny's are not created equal! I learned that the hard way last week. I decided to go ahead and buy a cheap Chinese 22mm genny that was supposed to be made quite well. Long story short, I used it for one day and threw it in the garbage, literally! It was only $25 but still, it was crap in ways I never new crap existed!
