I just watched a review where the guy said that the did didn't like the provari. But that was back a few months ago with the other screws. Has this issue been resolved with the thumb screw and the extension screw on the pos post?

One other thing that might cause problems is that the top cap of the Provari has a tendency to become seperated a little from the body of the Provari. If that occurs, it may not be getting a good contact with the battery. Although if that was the case, I would think that you would have problems with everything, not just the DID.

I have a Provari and used it with my DIDs for months before I got the Poldiac and never had an issue.

I have no clue what this issue entails, I was one of the first people to get a DID almost a year ago now. I have always used it on my Provari until I recently got the Poldiac. There are no problems as far as I know with the DID on the Provari. My first DID has the brass contacts and my other DID's have the newer SS post and nuts. All of them work just fine on a Provari.

The only thing that I can think of with any Genesis on a Provari is the amp limit of the Provari. You simply cannot go below a 1.0 ohm coil. But that has everything to do with Provari and nothing with the DID.

It is a video by riptrippers back july of last year on youtube. He said the provari is too sensitive. I don't care for a super low ohm coil. I wrap mine 1.3-1.5. The lr on a mech is too hot for me. But he said the problem was with the 3 brass screws and the neg screw. All I use are provaris and wondered if this was a common, known issue that I've not heard yet .

I used mine on a Provari for months also, all original brass screws and post. I never had an issue unless I got below 1 ohm. I had a .9 ohm coil that worked for awhile but it was awful temperamental. IMO opinion if they are set up correctly a DID will work on anything. I'm not talking about oxidation as I use unoxidized wicks now, but having the coil wrapped just tight enough to hold the wick in place. I use the Petar K method for 28 awg kanthal wrapping it on a drill bit or just wrapping it on the wick before inserting it for 30 awg or higher. Setting up an unoxidized wick on a Provari is a whole nuther story though. All that to say the DID plays well with the Provari. I'll go back to my corner now and shut up. :vapor:

My DIY supplies arrived fast, and now I must focus on the DIY threads for a spell. I already have a headache, just thinking about it lol.
I also got some more Silica rope for the IGO-L (it came with some... hahaha... a whole fingernail's length of it, stingy vendor), so I can taste my experiments without ruining my DID wicks. It feels funny to actually have the stuff on hand... what was I thinking????!!!

I remember that video. His complaint was that he had troubles with hotspots. That nut was cracked a long time ago (I agree with NatGas ^^^). Provari works great with DIDs (any of the models) as long as you don't wrap a sub-1.0ohm coil. I target ~1.4ohm on my std sized DID I use with my Provari V2.

Correction: Pete said it ^^^

Uma, DIY is an awesome way to go, you will soon be wondering what took so long. I've been mixing for awhile now, feel free to shoot me any ?s you might have. The stickies in DIY are a great place to start. There are a couple of blogs I found very helpful too, be glad to PM the links if you like.

What flavor did you get. You can also make small batches without the nic to try the taste. And you don't have to worry about killing yourself

This was the overcontactivity guy!
First time I heard the word overcontactivity as a problem!

Thanks so much, B2L! I'll start in the Stickies, and pretend I'm making a batch while reading. I'd like the links very much, thanks!

Tobacco, Ry4, Caramel Cappuchino, Butter Rum, Banana Cream, French Vanilla. Most of them should goof up mix together okay, right? They didn't have any sweeters like Cotton Candy on stock, so I have to hope the ones I have will be sweet enough.
I would like to copy Bob's Krave Kutter (altcig) eventually, and of course to invent a super Caramel Cappy to be proud of.
I should probably start with the plain old Tobacco flavor right? I can add Banana to it, to sweeten it, right? And Vanilla?
So, like, I have all these bottles... now what.

Hi Miriam, I agree with all that you stated except V2 is happy at 0.9 Ohm

Hi Uma, just remember to make very small mixes & with minimum flavor you can always add drop by drop to get what suits you. Also I try to let things sit for a while before tasting at least overnight.

Or keep it in your pocket for a day..
This way it mixes well on the right temperature..

@Burnie71: Nice to see you back, Burnie!
Read about your visit in the hospital.
