And to current owners: Is the silver plating delicate or fairly durable?

ordered a couple satin DIDs yesterday, i'm excited to get into quality rebuildables, anyone know how long they might take to get in my mailbox?

I am jonesing to try a DID but I only have a P.O.B. address... never got my numbered address incorporated with the county here... 19 pounds is a little steep but considering the reasonable price of the DID, it might be ok... the order seems to go through the process ok even with the p.o. box, straight to paypal ... just haven't pulled the trigger.

The silver plating is extremely thick. I can't remember how thick, but I know Jim went to great extremes to make sure the plating is durable.

Congrats on your purchase, you made a great choice.
Jim has named the different configurations after some of the awesome people you will meet here.
The MMV driptips were some custom ones that Rick (rwechsler) had made, there was talk of Jim selling them but havent heard anymore about them, maybe Jim will chime in on that.
The silver plating, like the rest of the Poldiac, is extremely durable.

I used to have access to a laser cutter and a 3 axis CNC machine before I started vaping. Now I'm vaping and don't have access to a laser cutter or the CNC. Woe is life.

And a lathe, and a bridgeport, and a drill press, and buffing wheels, annealing table, vaccuum forming... I had it all. I was only making 10.00/hr then but I had it all

Is there any easy method for cleaning the Poldiac's silver contacts?

I haven't noticed any diminished power yet after a couple weeks of daily use so far... but I am not good at electronic diy to say the least.
