I'm using the SS switch. It's much better with the spring cut down, but it's still tight. I have another 14*** mod from another maker in Greece and the switch is sublime, it spoiled me.

I'm with you on this one Miriam. I always have my fill screw in but will loosen it a few turns with some of my thicker juices (not all 100% VG juices are equal viscosity). If I ever do get degraded wicking a quick squonk sorts it right out. (not sure why but I laugh every time I hear the word squonk - squonk, squonk, squonk...)

I had the same thing happen last week. I had just cleaned my Poldiac and DID, tearing them both down and cleaning them thoroughly, reassembled everything and got it up and running. Got 2 really great hits and then nothing. I had never blown a coil in 8 months of using my DID but proceeded to blow 4 that night and gave up. I came back to it the next morning, rewrapped and all is well since, go figure.
I have a friend of mine many years ago we shared.a Crash pad. In the mornings he would get up and go jogging and I would sit on the outside deck and drink coffee and smoke and watch him circle the complex. He would always say. Hey tony you need to exercise. Then one morning he callied me from his room and said tony I need help. Call and ambulance my back is locked up. His nick name now is bad back Bruce
.I never clean my atty. don't see the need. I run 8-10 mils thru it a day. It can only lead to trouble. I do clean the Bottom threads when I treat the silver in the Poldiac. Yes I use the crazy product tarnX.
My next plan it to switch to brass contacts in the poldiac and put the brass post in the Gemini. Less cleaning. I'm just to lazy.

When I was in the Service we'd all run with packs of smokes tucked in our socks so we could light-up when we stopped (we'd have smoked while we ran if they would've let us...). I'm somewhere in between on the cleaning thing. I don't mess with what aint broken but when the top of the wick looks like a "goo Q-Tip" or performance starts dropping off noticeably I'll perform some maintenance.
I still don't understand why folks are getting different results with the baking soda rub cleaning method. All methods take the same amount of time for assembly/disassembly but since it only takes 2 mins with the baking soda and the results for me are stellar (and amazingly cheap) why try anything else? I guess the one thing that would make me try something new would be to find a way of extending time between need for contact cleaning to a full month or something like that (currently only cleaning them once a week or once every other week). And since I do a PGA dip to get the moisture off quickly, I use a paper towel to give all the threads a quick wipe whilst putting back together.
I had to use the tarnX because I messed up. Must of left some moisture one of my screw contacts was black and wouldn't fire. So bad I think after cleaning it its down to brass. The rest look silver. Still only getting .3 volt drop. Now I just use it. I find it easier less mess . You know I'm not bright.

Wow man, that does look like the silver plating has worn off. I bet you were tough on sneakers as a kid too...

Thanks for your response! I just backed out the broken piece by carefully going in with a 1/8" dremel bit, came out nice without messing up the threads.
I found out why I was getting an ohms reading but not firing on my precise. The center post wasn't down enough to hit the contact point on the PV. Never had that issue before, but now I know.
And now, I have a second working DID. Very happy about that!

btw the Precise+ that were not of the latest batch/es have an upgrade available for a higher contact point at the top connector... I couldn't get contact with a couple of RBA's ... but actually I could do what you did and lower the atomizer contact point. At any rate they saw fit to offer higher contacts on the newer ones and the upgrade can be done through them too. just saying

aww, I wanted to order a Poldiac today. None in stock. Jim I know you are a hard working man creating new and cool vaping gear, I am not complaining at all. Per chance will I have any luck purchasing one soon? I checked your stock updates on the mmvape forum, but found no recent updates so I thought I would post a quick note here. Sorry, I am just excited in getting one, I know I am late to the boat.

Oh my goodness, Jim you devil...just checked again and landed a 'Cloud Wizard Poldiac'...you must have been reading my mind that was the exact one I wanted too. Oh my, I am beside myself with joy!
I landed a Standard DID too. It just made my vaping budget for the month, had to settle for a defective DID, but its all good I am so happy!
