It's looks! are you blind man

I think I deserve the right to like what I want as an individual. Deal with it.
But seriously though, I just don't like side buttons and those dinky looking slots turn me off. Guess I'm weird

LOL I agree with ya on that one Tony. I just took a peek at that other mod and Jim's Poldiac blows it out of the water not with it's esthetics but with its components and functionality. IMHO of course.
Howdy fellow DiDer's! I haven't gotten over here in a while. Hope everyone is doing well.
I broke my baby D14 last week and my parts arrived yesterday but those evil UPS people took them with them.My god do I miss my little baby.

I feel the same about bottom buttons. Ginger and Mary Ann. But I liked both of them. That not weird

OT but very cool Avatar Vap.... (oh, and sorry to hear about the broken DID)
Heya cw. Yeah thanks, that's my girl in my avi. She's been a nice ride over the years.
I went postal on the postal people tonight when I got home to yet another damn UPS notice. Jim has GOT to change his website to allow people the option for no Sig required. I really lost it on those poor UPS folks. Funny the things you do when you've gone a week without your favorite DiD.![]()
So the talk about cleaning the Poldiac silver switch internal contacts. Does this correct the issue of not firing regularly? I'm curious because mine does not fire. It has been in my box for a while went to pull it out for some use and it drove me nuts not activating.
Thank you for the info![]()

A couple things on the contacts, I agree it's not always just about cleaning but my first lesson learned was to remember to clean the little pin in the button (easy to forget to clean and equally easy to forget to put it back in - I've done that a few times already).
Another observation (I think it was Tony's find) don't over tighten the inner contacts (the bigger flat ones). I found that if they are more than thumb nail snug sometimes the button pin may only touch one or the other but not both. Seems thumb nail snug allows them to settle into alignment as the pin in the button will stop (making a good connection) once it touches both equally.
I had the button bind on me once when I hadn't lined up the Delrin insert properly but I could see it sticking if there were any debris or if it was "off" a little as the tolerances in there are pretty tight. If my felt too tight I do what Raven did and sand down the button barrel a little with super fine sand paper or emery cloth.
Another thing that I also do is during setup I tighten the bottom outer contact (on the battery side) flush with the inner. I use 2 springs in the bottom so all the battery sizes I use (AW, Panasonic, 650/500/350, etc) make a great contact I think it's got better conductivity when not loose. The upper still needs to be adjusted to your atty. I get to where the airhole is ~1/8th turn from where I want it then tighten it the last 1/8th so it's got a decent amount of pressure on the positive post.
I hope everyone can get sorted out. It's ultra frustrating when something isn't working well and everyone else seems to be getting along great.
Yes, this will happen. You can go merrily along vaping it everyday and then - nothing. Totally nothing. Even cleaning contacts wont help sometimes, then you must do complete tear down and clean.
