That is the Max, by the great Mamu, that I referred to earlier. As a testament to her magnificence, I made it my avatar - even though it will never truly be born unto me. Sad is the day...

I have another by her, named Denali, that is truly a marvelous piece of work. I'm glad I was able to at least experience that one.

Here's my thing about wanting a DNA20. I enjoy tinkering with mods and atties as much as the next guy. Getting the right build on a genny to match the mod im using and its volt drop under load can be fun. But sometimes its not fun. Somtimes, I just wanna freakin vape! Like, build a coil, throw it on a mod, set it to whatever wattage i want, and vape without worry about getting the coil ohmed perfectly or having to change batteries when the rba starts to underperform. Yeah, i have a provari, but most of my rba's look stupid on it, and lately i vape at higher wattages that the provari just spits error codes at. Wouldn't it be cool to just grab my kayfun, wick and coil it with whatever gauge wire is closest to me on the desk, pop it onto a brick of a mod, set it to 15 watts and leave for the day knowing im gonna have a crackin vape the whole time im gone? yeah, that would be nice....and thus, im trying to find 200 bucks :)
the closest thing I've been able to find like your description is my Altoids box with the Okr-t chip in it.It vapes with any atty and any number of wraps I choose to put on it.No annoying error codes and no menus to scroll through. It works every time and can be had for about $60.I'm probably gonna donate my dna and nevel mods to good will.Just wish I could find an Okr chip in something stronger than an Altoids box, although mines lasted over a year.

LOL 2423kids no one who has a Billet Box deserves any more goodwill!!!! :p

BUT, but, but ... I used the Christmas money I got for THAT!!! LOL! ;-) :D

AND .....

I'm selling off all my little "hoarded" e-cig stuff in the Classy's right now to pay for my "Hana"! YEPPERS!! :D

I'm organizing a little sale myself, too. Deciding exactly what, and all that stuff. Come the weekend...

GOOD LUCK WITH YOURS!

LOL! Why thank you DP!! ;-)

(Sorry to hear about the Mamu not coming thru! :-( But ya got ONE ... Which is more than I managed to get! LOL! I LOVED the little "Stealthy" that retird had a hand in! Sigh! Hence ... "Hana"!! :))

Yeah. I fell in love with almost everything she made (not much of wood person, which is my only exception). Max was BY FAR my favorite, but it just wasn't meant to be. I'll treasure the picture always

My first DNA20! So excited. I stuck an MNKE battery in there since most mods that have built in LiPo batteries have such high C ratings. Wasn't sure what was needed, so I figured the MNKE should work well. 60A rated for pulse discharge, and 20A continuous.

ETA: The charger is MICRO usb not mini like the website said.

The DNA needs a battery capable of a 7 amp continuous discharge IIRC.

The higher the c rating for given amount of mah will provide a more gradual vdrop curve....so longer use per charge.

I'm using the MNKE 26650 in one of my DNA mods and I haven't been real impressed (they are falling way short of the specs), but I have heard the MNKE 18650's are way better and probably accurate to specs.

I think the main reason the lipo's typically have higher c ratings is because they are for the RC industry where the batteries are being pushed much harder. So that is what is readily available and it only helps in the PV application.

I have used a 6000mah 65c with a DNA and it would last forever, but also took forever to charge with the DNA charger.

That battery should work....specs say 6.8 amp max (hope that is continuous)....depending on battery performance you might not be able to hit higher watts and/or the vdrop/protection might hit the voltage cutoff early. Protected cells seem to act funny with boosted/regulated mods.

Well I paid nearly $50 shipped for 2 battery's so I hope to god they work

Any recommendation for a good 18650 battery that lasts longer/has more mAh rating than the MNKE? I think I want dual 18650 for my next DNA20 mod.

I'm not really into the round cells that much, but I usually stick with high drain efest as they have performed the same as the AW for me. But I will probably pick up a couple MNKE 18650's to try in an 18650 mod I'm building. From what I have seen there really isn't that big of a selection out there for that size other than the 18650 variations.

I'm assuming the V1 with 1200mah lipo, they are using something like this Turnigy nano-tech 1200mah 1S 15C Round Lipo

I built a protected 26650 sized using three 900mah cells similar to the above battery, and it performed quite a bit better than the MNKE 26650 at higher watts. Once I get the 18650 mod built I will compare the 1200 lipo to the 18650.

The batteries that bk78 ordered may very will work fine, but it has seemed that the larger mah protected round cells haven't performed as well as the unprotected high drain versions.

It really comes down to what wattage you vape at. If you don't vape at higher watts a larger mah 18650 will probably work great.

This is from the DNA20 data sheet

Battery:
A single cell rechargeable lithium chemistry battery is recommended. Either a lithium ion or a lithium polymer type can be used. Any battery used should be rated for a MINIMUM of 7 amps continuous discharge current. High C rated lithium polymer or IMR cylindrical cells are strongly preferred.

Another note....The Hana specs don't say anything about having added reverse polarity protection and I didn't see anything added from looking at the pics (hard to see, but they could have added something), but the DNA doesn't have reverse polarity protection and WILL HARM/RUIN THE DNA IF THE BATTERY IS INSTALLED BACKWARDS...so be cautious.
