I just tried the q-tip method. Be careful, it's easy to overfill it. I followed the directions in the video. Half way putting the AFC/RBA on the tank, juice started to come out between the threads. When I finally got it seated, there was no air in the tank at all. It was full, as in FULL. The method works great, next time I'll leave a little room.

I did that the first time too. I don't know if I watched the whole video so if this tip is in it I apologize but I discovered that after you fill if you flip the q tip around and push it through again it cleans up any extra juice that the first q tip left on the walls and in the coil area.

I think it'll depend on how OCD one gets with wiping it down. The coating is only on the outside of glass.
