Question. Could have already been answered here and I missed it. I know most won't want to use the standard occ coils but, they will work in the new tank, correct?
Correct. The coils are the same except the "v1" OCC has a horizontal coil and the new "v2" OCC now has a vertical coil.

On that note, one thing I noticed, the 510 for the drip tip is very "shallow", so some of my drip tips don't fit snugly in, they kind of have a gap. Could be fixed by sanding down the delrin on the tip, but whatever, too much effort. Just gonna use the stock tip for now.

thats interesting, i just tried like 4 random drip tips and all of them fit fine for me, now it is a little tight

I had heard that there was v1 and v2 air flow controllers but never noticed. I have two Subtank Minis and I think one is the v1 and the other is the v2. One of my Subtank Mini's air flow controller has closed, one hole, two hole, and wide open. The other one has small one hole, one hole, two hole and wide open. I still prefer doing lung hits with the air flow wide open. If I close it down below the two hole, the vape just gets way too warm for me.

the original V1 AFC only has one opening. the V2 AFC has 2, one on each side of the tank
now what you're describing might be a pre production V1 and a production V1
im not too familiar with and differences with the V1s
i dont even have my original STM to compare the AFCs with right now, gave that to the GF after i got a new mini with a V2 AFC
ill have to take a look at it next time

USA. State: Inebriated.
The actual logo is VERy subdued and I think it will dull even more with regular use. Do your battery door move at all? So when you grip it and move your fingers a little, does the door move?

Yep, mine does that (black version). In Pbusardo's video he mentioned that the white one doesn't do that. It's a little annoying, but kinda nit-picky and not enough for me to care.

I only tried one, other than the stock one, and it simply didn't go in all the way, like there was probably a 2mm gap between the tank and the base of the drip tip, so it wasn't exactly "flush". Didn't look terrible, but a little thing.

@hashtag , I believe it is the way the magnet is set in the mod, is making this thing move. I am sure the magnets or doors by themself wont be different from one subox to another since pretty much everyone has a pre production version. @ephilbe , can you take a close up picture of all 4 magnet locations? I am sure a visual comparison would be helpful here :)

So I am thinking, first rub off that adhesive material on the TOP of the magnet. That seems like a good start. But I am not sure if that adhesive is holding the magnet in place...

Two of my magnets look a bit more recessed than they should be, it seems like they should be flush so if you ran your finger across it would feel flat but two of mine are deeper into the casing.

The first one (with a "closed" setting) sounds right, but the new one should be "small hole, large hole, wide open slot" with only three settings, and each one is open on both sides instead of just the one side. I've never heard of a "small hole" version with all four settings. Is it open on both sides or just the one? Where did you get it from? And how long have you had it?

Just got my Black Subox from MVS. I popped in an AW IMR 18650 2200 ma cell I bought for my Provari's. Fits perfectly. Everything seems fine, the battery door does not slip or slide as far as I can tell. I just put some DIY juice in, using the 0.5R coil already installed. I vaped it from 20W for a trial run up to 35W in about 5W increments and backed it down to 25W where the flavor seems better (I'm a flavor guy not a cloud chaser).

Considering I paid $60 for it, and free 2 day shipping by adding $15 worth of other trinkets to get to that $75 minimum for free freight, and considering the tank is well worth $30 in my opinion, and I think what I paid for my 2nd older Subtank, this is one heck of a $30 mod. A lot of value in this. I started vaping one year ago this week (9 months since my last puff on a cig). Back then a 1300ma eGo battery, which I seriously doubt was really 1300ma, sold for around $15. And a 1600ma around 20... the market has come along way in terms of value. This thing totally blowing out the eGo batteries, I don't need to itemize that.

I have 4 Samsung INR 25R's charging up as I type. Great deal from Illumn @ $5 a pop, with a free case for each pair.

For me, its more than just nit-picking. Its annoying when a well made mod creaks bcs the door is moving arnd. Even if its just a little bit.

For me they are malaligned a little. The magnets are sitting a bit crooked.

Your not imagining that. Kanger tanks have a tendancy to run slightly shallow and narrorer with drip tips. It varies quit a bit between them. Good thing drip tips vary in size too.

I'm debating if I want to break out the dremmel and sand it down flush. It has the potential to fix it but also has the potential to break it. I'd hate for my attempt to fix it to end up with a piece of tape holding it all together.

Yeah I just got the Black Subox yesterday (still waiting for batteries from illumn..) but yeah the door on mine come off way too easy and moves a bit as well... I got mine from Ecig-City who doesn't have a warranty but told me they would deal with manufacturer defects on a case to case basis.. Wonder if this would qualify n get the white one instead? Also I tried my Nautilus Mini on there n it seemed to fit fine but was afraid to use b/c of the wattage problem seeing as I would just want to use it under 15 watts but would that just be a problem on the .5 & 1.0 ohm coils and not on the Nautilus coils

I think I'll lurk around here until the kinks get worked out with these new Kangeroos. Kanger usually reacts quickly to forum input, whether negative or positive. Oh yeah, they're lurkn' too, count on it and if enough of us say we won't buy or recommend the subox until they fix the issues they'll jump right on it. So let me be the first say.....well....I guess I already said it.

Please let this purse carrier know what you find out as far as warranty for these guys! Tia!

There's no way to 'register'. Manufacturer's is limited (only some things) for the first 30days. Charger has an extended warrenty, some specifics like that. Nothing that covers a serious error in production. Any warrenty is pretty much up to the vendor who sold it to you. Suddenly I was reminded why I started buying from FT years ago. I did post a question in the Kangertech forum that directly asked them but no response. Sometimes exterior finish isn't considered "essential" to the function of an item, so it's not covered even with a good warrenty. I have no idea how that'll be interpeted. I think this is the going standard for most mods right now. Eleaf has a disclaimer up saying the problems they've had was due to counterfiets (BS) but they had no real warrenty either.

It also sounded to me (opinion only) based on what I read in the forum that Kanger is going to want to sell out of old stock before putting new stock on the market. That means the new coils and rba. I'm happy to be wrong on any of this stuff if someone finds something different. The only reason I thought of it was due to the recent Eleaf fiasco.

If they are lurking..... Send a care package to the pre production version holders with the extra drip tip! Also a way to fix the battery door issue. That is annoying!

Anybody ever been on Kanger's forums? They definitely hinted at some stuff there that ended up being on the subox. I might troll around there more often.

Reps from Kanger seem to post / solicit feedback quite a bit on their Facebook site. I know I forget to check that place.

I really wish they'd get a native English speaker to rep for em. Idk how expensive that'd be, but I'd be willing to switch jobs and brush up on my mandarin ;)

With how strong the vaping community is they could probably get someone to do it for some free gear. It would help them a lot if they just had someone to translate their messages better. If I am just an average consumer looking at gear I would be pretty hesitant to go with the company that looks like a 7 year old writes their marketing materials.
