That's almost as much wick as I use when chunky wicking....lol .Even though it might seem that wicking that heavy would oppose good juice flow, the opposite is true. Cotton fibers held in closer proximity wick better; it increases the capillary effect. That is, to a point. You can over wick a kayfun style rta but it's difficult unless you're tootle puffing at lower wattages where you don't want so much flow (flooding). To over wick a STm I would have to use so much cotton that I'd have to roll it down rock hard to get it through the coil, and I almost do, almost.

I'm a lung hitter at 30w and use more cotton than that vid. I chain vape my STm on the 2-hole afc setting where I feel it makes the best flavor....pretty good clouds too but another payoff with chunky wicking is super long wick life. I have vaped down 90ml of cleanish juice but normally change out the wick at around 75ml with that cleaner juice. Wicking with my dirtiest NETs lasts about 30ml. Wicking with my DIY RY4 NET usually goes to about 60ml.

Ever notice how much cotton is packed into factory occ coils? Who would buy them if they couldn't do 30w and last longer than two tanks?

Chunky wick pics coming soon. My RY4 wick is just about used up! Not as cloudy as it should be and the flavor is going watery.

It would amazing if you could definitely put up some pics. I can't get past 15w with a 0.5 ohm coil on the RBA AND only if I mouth to lung, if I open it up and try to lung hit it you can hear that "kssssssss" afterwards due to the cotton not being fully saturated :l ... I honestly don't know what the hell I'm doing wrong, I've tried about 3-4 different ways to wick... none of them are working. I managed to make it work the first time ever but never again ever since...

Until I get my pics up, what type of cotton are you using? I use KGD and de-skin both sides. For my 2.78mm coils I use a full 1/2" wide strip, roll it down firm, not hard and I get it all in there by tension-thinning it by pulling from both ends at the same time while sliding it through the coil. It's a lot of cotton, no dry hits or post vape sizzle at 30w with 65vg on the 2-hole setting.

KGD, both sides de-skined as well. I am using the pre-made coil atm, couldn't be arsed to do another one, I've been building so many coils for the past year and a half I kind of got sick of it :D Sooo, dunno if that could be the issue. What gauge are you using btw?

I wick like I've always wicked, I'm not a newbie per say, I've owned Squapes, Erlkonigin, kayfuns, russians, rdas, you name it. Always were able to wick them all, some after a steep learning curve though, with this, it seems SO simple and brainless that I must be missing something for sure.

All I can think of is more power requires more wick, especially in my STm, Billow, Lemo and Goblin where greater airflow is avaible. You are keeping the wick tails away from the juice channels, right?

I run a Twisted 28 or 29g 6wrap spaced 2.78mm coil. Specs are in the link below for the 29g although actual res is .1 ohm lower than steamengine calculates.

Oops... the new rba doesn't have juice channels. My bad.

Aren't the tails supposed to block off the channels? Or holes in this case, since they're massive.

I've never owned those tanks you mentioned, so my wicking experience with high wattage lung hitters is quite minute. I may be going into this with the wrong frame of mind.

idk why people say that juice channels should be open , my drilled out subtank RBA gets almost no juice up if I leave the juice channels uncovered , if I cover them , there are bubbles going up every hit and never get dry hits , kayfuns work both ways , orchids also work both ways .

As for the new RBA , basically you wanna build it the same way you would build the OCC , JUST MAKE SURE THE COTTON ISNT STICKING OUT OF THE HOLES and it should work

No. All of my vape funds are tied up in the white Subox kit I ordered. Just for the buttons. Lol.
(serious case of shinyitis going on here)

Murder that black mod! Fwiw I think the red buttons would look pretty cool on the white mod.

Yes, the wick tails have to cover the holes. My bad, I'm bouncing back and forth between two kanger threads, sorry.

When I look at the picture @ephilbe posted a few pages before it shouldn't be much of a problem to 3D print the buttons in whatever color one wants in every color.
Hmmm. My wife has a 3D printer at work......
