You can use new VC Pre build .5 in any mini? I have more recent mini just a month old.

Yes. The pre-built stock vertical coils will work in the Subtank Plus and Subtank Mini, but not the Subtank Nano.
not really sure, never taken it apart that far... i've only unscrewed the post and put it back together
Sure enough, it's the clear version... hmmm... there doesn't seem to be any damage
so if my memory is correct then, that is one of the original RBAs that had a non-peek insulator, and you should be able to call the US Kanger customer service people and have them send you a new version peek insulator
the original was flawed and could heat up and metal/break down causing a burnt taste..... so i would surely look into that if i was you

I was talking to the owner of a local vape shop the other day and she said that with the initial shipment of new gear it is common for kanger and others to sell them to certain vendors for about half of the normal wholesale cost. Then when they start shipping to everyone else the wholesale cost goes up to nearly what those first few boxes sold to the retail crowd for. It may be that Kanger just upped the wholesale to the final rate. I don't know how much truth there is to that but it makes sense with what we usually see in the price jump after the presale deals. The conversation started because she saw my eVic VT and was unhappy that I got it for the same price she does.

101vape is on Kangertech's list of sites that aren't trusted vendors. They are legit though I think it is just because they don't follow the pricing guidelines. I'll buy from them either way, I don't really care about Kanger's list as I know most of them have legit products they just sell them cheaper than Kanger wants.
The black Subtank is now available at MyVaporStore for $32.95.
Sweet Wapes didn't get Kanger's memo so I bought the white one from them at $59.
