Greetings Steve and welcome to your new life, if you so choose to take this path.

I was a tobacco user for 45 years. During my annual physical, my MD always gave me the line... "When are you going to quit smoking?", my usual reply was "I'm not, I enjoy it too much to quit". This September, I'm in for my usual and out comes the line again, in which I replied with my canned "I'm not...". This time he pulled a fast one on me. He asks "Have you tried electronic cigarettes?" I knew what they were, but no, I haven't tried them. He suggested that I try it to see if I like it.

Having this tossing around in my head, when I went to purchase my next carton of Tobacco smokes, I saw a stand of electronic disposables. So I picked two of them up. The first thing to hit me was the throat hit. WOW! I wasn't used to that, but the flavor was quite good. After I finished those off, I really had a taste for another e-cig and not a tobacco cig. Keep in mind, I had no intention to give up tobacco products, I figured I would use this to suppliment my use of cigarettes. I picked up a few more disposables and started looking around for refillable kits as the disposables were about as expensive as tobacco cigs.

I started with a Halo kit. I really enjoyed the electronic method of nicotine, and the flavor was much better than tobacco, I actually realized I wasn't smoking tobacco products but strictly electronic nicotine. I still have the same pack sitting around in the cabinet upstairs untouched. After getting tired of constantly charging batteries, I migrated to the Joyetech eGo C 1000 mAh variable voltage system. Now we're talking! The cartridges opened up a TON of flavor in juices that I was using! Adjusting the voltage to the taste of the fluid added yet another dimension. I realized that the non tank / cartridge cigarette look alikes actually hold fluid by some kind of fiber inside the atomizer. It also holds a ton of flavor! Another one of the main things that sold me on electronic vaping is the variety of flavors. To the best of my knowledge can I find a tobacco product that tastes like Juicy Fruit or Caramel Creme.

There will be times when you "crave a tobacco cigarette". I have found that during this time, your body isn't craving a tobacco cigarette, but actually craving nicotine. Your mind associates the nicotine crave with a cigarette. Take your kit and start puffing, the crave will dissapear almost instantly.

Another thing for rookies and veterans alike: DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS! Your body will dehydrate during the garbage cleansing phase of your lungs. Some of the juices will dehydrate you if they have alcohol blended with them as well. I always have a glass of ice cold Sam Pelligrino next to me.

You will also notice after a few weeks of vaping, that the smell of tobacco is no longer pleasant. You'll walk by one of those "designated smoking areas" and it will really hit you. If you decide to take in a Tobacco cigarette (and I think we all have including myself), you'll realize that the taste of a tobacco cigarette is horrible. My first cigarette after a few weeks of vaping and I thought "How in the world did I smoke these things for 45 years!?!?"

Then the reality of things kick in. Your car doesn't smell like stale tobacco, your clothes don't smell, your house doesn't smell, YOU DON'T SMELL!

I went from the carts to clearomizers then to the Kanger T-3 clearomizers (bottom coil) on a recommendation of a friend. I enjoyed the bottom coil as I never got a dry burn (unless I'm puffing and not paying attention to how much liquid is remaining). The one thing that I can't get used to with the clearomizers is the shape and hard plastic mouth piece. I loved the flavor, but that mouth piece gets to me after a while.

I was doing some crusing around a few weeks ago and found the Vision Eternity atomizer. Now I have the best of all worlds! I can use an eGo Type A cartridge, I can use it as a drip which easily holds 30 drops of liquid and flavor even beyond the clearomizer! There's juice that I had in my box that I was ready to give up on as I wasn't satisfied with the taste. Before doing so, I started dripping and found new life in these juices. Granted the Vision Eternity states it's for "Advanced Users", but watch a few of the You Tube Videos and you'll get it.

So now my daily rig is my Vision Eternity Atomizers with my eGo batteries. At night, I use my Vision Eternity on my eVic mod.

Life is soooo good right now!

It is definitely all about finding what works for you. I had tried an ecig I bought from a convenience store last summer, didn't work for me.

My wife and I really wanted to quit smoking but had not had any "luck" with any of the usual methods. I then started do A LOT of reading and invested in a higher quality 808 model ecig. After receiving that set and using for a full day I tried an analog cig and couldn't stand it. We have both been analog free for 2 months with no desire to go back.

She has upgraded to an ego kit and is very happy with it. I have moved on to a sigeli zmax and rba's.

Find what works for you and you will be happy. It is amazing how much better you feel!

Good luck.

My personal experience is that I smoked a pack a day for 24 years. Like you I enjoyed smoking, and like you the problem was the toll it was taking on my health. I tinkered with ecigs for a while. I bought the small battery type you can get at a gas station at first but they didn't satisfy me. I wasn't sure it would work for me. Then I did some research and decided to get a larger battery "mod". I bought a bolt and a cartomizer tank. The day after it arrived was the last day I had a cigarette. I started with 18mg e-liquid, and am currently using 12mg. When I get to 0 we'll see what happens as far as continuing to vape. A guy my wife works with vapes 0 nic, he says it's the "hand to mouth" not the nicotine that he's hooked on.

I too would highly recommend the provari. I bought one as a Christmas gift to myself. I've only had a bolt and a provari for PV's (personal vaporizers) and I can tell you the provari is an excellent device. Extremely well made, easy to use, and reliable. I never had an issue with my bolt. I still have it. A great vape doesn't have to be an expensive one. If money isn't an issue I say go for the provari. I use carto tanks because of convenience. I can fill my tank, throw a fresh battery in the provari and be good for the day.

Good luck, and hope you get and stay off the cigarettes. If you need any advice or help this is a great community and everyone is very helpful. Feel free to ask.
