After smoking for 10 years and recently having a son, I knew it was time to quit. I enjoyed smoking and wasn't really addicted to it because I could go without them when I got home. But being an active duty Marine and be stressed out all the time, I was able to take a break from work and go to the smoke pit and relax. My wife also has a lung disease and she's been asking me for awhile to quit because of the chance of the third hand smoke making her condition worse. So I man'ed up and quit the habit. She also likes the smell of the vapor when I get a sweet flavored juice, but not so much the money I've spent on the mod's. lol

I've been smoking for 17 years for about 10 years have been smoking 1 1/2 - 2 packs a day and I'm only 33. Originally I tried to quit in 2007/2008 when electronic cigarettes were starting to gain popularity in Asia and was still unknown for the most part in the US. I found njoy and Crown7 and loved the concept. I loved it so much I converted a decent portion of my companies assets in order to start an ecig business and had SLB manufacture a new product line in my own brand called Reclaym ("Reclaym your Freedom" was the slogan ;) ). The line was based on DSE701, DSE801, DSE901 which at the time were the best known designs when compared to the competition (Kanger, Ruyan etc). In the mean time my current company hit a major snag and I ran out of funding to finish the launch and began smoking again due to the extreme stress I was undergoing and all but abandoned my e-cigarette venture. Almost 6 years later I now have a baby on the way and my 10 year old daughter keeps telling me to quit so it sounds like its time. I regret my previous neglect to my ecig enthusiasm as I see electronic cigarettes everywhere and hear other's quitting success stores. Still sitting on what was once valued at $35,000 worth of merchandise no one has ever heard of (luckily most everyone loves and respects the original DSE series, maybe I can actually market them now that there is a demand for older SLB models) and decided to give quitting a second go. And here I am :D

I for one liked smoking but didn't like the hold it had over me.

Also found the prices to be getting out of hand so when it reached £6.50 a pack I'd had enough.

I had tried several times in my near 30 years of smoking to give up but nothing had worked for long.

Have been using my Riva for 9 months now!

I didn't smoke but hub did heavily & I found myself reaching for his mod. His 24mg was too much for me lol. He bought me all the vape stuff I desired so no more touching his stuff. Vaping 6mg is nothing but it relaxes me with 6 kids. I keep mine on a lanyard during homeschool time. I'm not an alcoholic or on any prozac. Vaping creates a calming ritual for me and my Trichotillomania has vanished. I don't say this to nonforum peeps cuz the govt is nuts about ecigs not being a good alternative to anything.

I started vaping about 8 months ago after 20 years of smoking, (well me and the wife started together), so you can say we're rookies LOL. I got tired of the smell, the coughs and after my second child was born, he was constantly coughing and sneezing when we came around him after lighting up (and airing out outdoors about 5 mins after) . We tested it out at the mall, and shopped around online for different bargains and liquids. Me and the wife is down to 0-6mg of nicotine and never looked at another analog cigarette again. We just love the flavors, and don't have to go out in the heat or cold to puff away!:vapor:
