omg i am so happy to have found the page on the symptoms of quitting "real" cigs and the possible ill effects of ecigs!!!

i have autoimmune disease rheumatoid arthritis and take steroids - prednisolone to control the inflamation

i had such a mind blowing flare up of my condition in the transition between smoking and vaping and only vaping that i thought the ecigs were making me ill - this forum has given me some really useful infomative stuff to think about and this is the place i will come for advice - i will write more about my own experience in this transition to vaping only ( well apart from 3 cigs a day which im not going to give up)

ive smoked since i was about 11 and im now 55 - i was on 20 a day at 18 and my consumption was close on 30 to 40 per day for the last 30 years - heavy habit to kick so will add any info that might be of use to others like me - i do ultimately want to kick smoking and vaping

I smoked and vaped for almost a month until I just ran out of cigarettes. After 2 weeks of just vaping, a friend offered me a smoke which I accepted. I took 3 drags and wanted my protank 2. Now I'm able to walk into a room and smell if someone has been smoking. The next time you run out of cigs, give vaping a shot for a full day or two and find out how much you miss them. Good luck.

Ask your hospital dietician/nutrtionist for a good anti-inflammation diet.

Did wonders for me and other friends with arthritis. The gene research they have now shows actual inflammation gene turning on and off, based on certain food substances. It is accurate. Esp. with gluten and dairy.

When you finish your current pack, put off going out to get more for a couple of hours. You may find you don't want to buy more cigarettes after all.

For my first 5 days I did both. During that time I smoked as many packs as I used to in one day. On the morning of day 6 I realized I was out of cigarettes and was about to go to the store to get some ("just in case") when I thought I'd wait and see how long I could go before I really, really wanted one. That was five and a half years ago. I'm still waiting.
