New Mod?

Hey everyone im looking for some advise on my next Mod. I have had lots of them in the past and am currently using a Provari. What i would like to know is some good suggestions on what i should get next, my provari finally decided to go south on me so i need a replacement.

I dunno if i wanna go back to a mechanical mod or if i should find another good variable voltage/wattage mod. If so whats some good ones to use on either?

I am a big fan of rebuildable atomizers as well and am currently using the Oddysseus and love it. But I am thinking that i would like to try a rebuildable that can be more flexible, as in something that can do either a Genesis style as well as single or dual coil setups.

I love my Provari but hate that it just dont like doing anything under about 1.3 ohms. I would like something that can handle low Ohm coils even as low as say .6 ohm coils. I also like a good hot vape and usually set mine up at about 5v for a 2 ohm coil, so its gotta pump some power out lol.

Guess with those things in mind what would you guys suggest for a new mod and a new rebuildable atomizer? I would also prefer a tank style system but i dont mind dripping either.

Im also intrested in one of the mods that can utilize the stainless cable wicks i have seen as well as ribbon wire. Seen some of those preforming very well and would like to try one out.

Any suggestions?

Sounds to me that you need a mech. If you want to go 0.6 I strongly suggest that you change your mind and stick with .8 and up, unless you know for a fact that your battery can handle 0.6. In fact if you don't know that for a fact keep your coils 1.0 ohms and up.... But that's off topic. Very... very few vv/vw devices will let you run things below 1.0 ohms, if thats what you want you need a mech, what's your budget?

I had never given a bottom feeder mod much thought, but a lot of my buddies here on ECF had been encouraging me to try one. I had been a die-hard Provari user (cartotanks and AGA-T2 RBA's), but I did get an inexpensive bottom feeder a couple of months ago - a Vapage VMod-XL, and I must say, it is competitive with my favorite setup and getting more and more of my vape time. I highly recommend a bottom feeder if you have never used or considered one before. My eyes are now open wide.



My VMod, the full unadulterated flavor of a drip atomizer with the convenience of a tank. The removable, replaceable juice tank holds 9 ml of juice. The 2000 mAh AW 18650 IMR battery lasts me nearly 2 days. What's not to like?

I've become a bottom-feeder fan lately when I feel like something a bit different from my ProVari. I like dripping, but it can be a hassle. The bottom-feeder is like dripping upside down.

Is that mod actual wood built or is that an amazing inlay cover?

But you can get some all wooden mods out there. The woodimus was the first I saw and I was smitten. Maybe someday...

Well as far as budget is concerned i dont mind spending for a mod but i would like to stop spending $200 everytime i buy a new one lol.

For Ohms I would like to be able to use the dual coil setups at least. Say within the .8 to 1.0 Ohms range. Or at least a 1.5 Dual coil setup but on a system that can actually pump out enough power to actually make that hit like a train. I love my Provari, but thats my major complaint with it, it just cant pump out enough power to use a dual coil setup very well.

I also love my Oddy, but i do wish it was a bit more simple to build a coil in. Right now i am using .32 Kanthal wire but i hate having to use the silver wire as well to make a coil, just kind of a hassle. Flavor and build quality is top notch though.

I have an AGA-t2 if i remember correctly but anytime i make a dual coil setup on it or even a good Genesis style atty using it i end up with a pretty low Ohm coil that the Provari just dont like. Always giving me errors and such since the coil ends up around .9 Ohms. Plus the AGA series just seems to be a bit cheap IMO and i was wanting something a little better. Course maybe if i get the Steel cable wick and change to ribbon wire the AGA stuff would preform better. But it still leaves me with the Provari problem of not putting out enough power for one.

I have a few prodigy V1's, 2's, and a v3 sitting around and those were good in their day for mechanicals. Just didnt like stacking batteries to get to the 6v range. Dunno if thats unavoidable or not though.

I think im being picky lmao....6v, low resistance, safe, and highly modded system. Ok ya im picky lol.

I'm sorry, I didn't see your post. It's a bottom feeder, so I guess it is a Woodimus, but no one calls them that on the Phidias thread, including Fono. The only thing I know that's different from the original is that the design no longer has a needle feed. He switched to a tube feed. I've had it for awhile, but I only started using it a couple of days ago. I probably do a review after I get more proficient at the feeding thing.

You don't have to read all of the pages on the thread. I just asked questions and they answered.

I don't know anything about dual coil since I think a 0.8 ohm genesis coil on a mech gives me more than enough VTF. The way I see it, you want to be able to fill an entire room full of vapor with one single drag, and again, if that's what you want, only mechanicals can give you the power needed to do that since most regulated mods are protected against exactly what you plan to do with it.

Stacking batteries is not recommended, especially if you are planning on surfing on the edge of your battery safety threshold.

For a mod, if you don’t mind paying, you might want to consider taking a look at what vaperev have to offer, they have good quality mechs available most of the time. As for dual coil attys…. I dunno, don’t use em.

If you're looking for a mod that can pump out power while still having the advantage of variable wattage look for something with the DNA20 board in it. You can run sub ohm coils on it as well.

That's awesome you are getting something new but I suggest sending the provari in for repair it may not cost much or anything if you're still under warranty.

Yes but the amp limit is still around 3.5 if I remember correctly meaning that it won't fire your 0.9 coil above something like 3.4v

Well the proper answer for the OP is get one of each, that way you can't go wrong.

First off send the Provari in for repair. That's why we buy them in the first place.
Then get a mechanical mod, and there are plenty of good ones to choose from.
That way you can use the Provari for higher resistance builds on your RBA, and the mechanical for lower resistance builds.
And of course you need a Reo for out & about convenience.
