Awesome!!!!!!!

Now will this be the resistor for the Prodigy? Using different materials for the disk? Is that the advantage other than the obvious lack of solder and wire? Sorry if this has already been answered, I didn't read the whole thread... call me lazy....

Very nice...put me down for one for the Protege and one for the Prodigy... We will be able to get these for the V1 right?

I really wanted to get the Protege...but always hesitated because of the button issue. A mechanical button really sounds good. When are these going to be available?

Excellent question!

Steve said about 7-10 days. About 7-10 days ago! ;)

Maybe he will give us an update on those and the Protege kr808 adapters, and the Protege USB converter tomorrow.

My Protege is arriving there tomorrow. I'm asking them if they will put the mechanical switch in instead since it is there. I'll have to wait longer to get it back, but I want something that is going to work and hold up better!

I think I would just let them replace the switch as it is and then order the mechanical one when they are ready... You may be waiting for a long time if you go this route... and you could use yours as a backup.... Just my $0.02....

True, but will we be able to put the mechanical ones in ourselves without having to do anything technical??

all i have to say is AWESOME!!!! i'd actually like to see what the resistance is of the old switch -vs- the new switch... i think that is the true beauty of mechanical switches... i couldn't imaging that tiny little contact in the old switch was helping much lol...

i actually feel like something i did actually helped the puresmoker community in some way lol ... even though it was a combined effort with everyone... i hope this turns out for the best or else i will have to duck and hide! lol jk jk

PS: i wondered how long a comment about my crazy picture would take lol... my lady is yelling at me about putting a picture of me and her up as we speak lol...

(sorry camelot)

does the curved face of the disk make the contact, or the flat underside?

Flat Underside Bud :) We don't need flat on flat ... PLUS -- Flat on Flat, there really is no room for error -- Everything would have to be lined up perfectly, or the disk would wobble and not connect. Keep the contact round, every single person will be able to take apart and put back together without an issue. The only pressed piece is the ring on the plastic button :)

copper disk = better amp draw?

Can't use similar metals Monk! Brass = Copper and Zinc alloys ... Using Copper on Brass is asking for them welding together ;)

Thus ... Brass/Copper with an Aluminum Disk = Dissimilar Metals ;)

And TRUST me ... There is enough amperage draw as it is (Brass & Aluminum) LOLOL ... Night and Day vs. Regular Protege
