Hey guys!

Just ordered a v2.5 Black Mini today!
Order shipped....cant wait!

Anyway,

For those of you who use RBAs....I have a question.
I have 32awg and 28awg kanthal right now....and would really prefer to use the 28awg if possible.
Can I get the 28awg to work with the Provari? I know the Vamo I have to get over 1.2ohms or it is an error.
What can I do with the Provari?

I recently got my first rebuildable, an AGA T+. I made my first ss wick and coil last weekend. At first I tested for resistance on an Ovale v8 and it read 1.8 ohm. Not bad for a first coil I thought. Then decided to test it on the Provari, too. Error code. So the Provari saw a short somewhere. I started to adjust my coil, and the wire broke apart between the positive post and the wick.

I didn't have enough decent wire left from the kit to make another coil, so I had to order some more mesh and wire. :(

I don't know enough to answer the OP's question, I'm still a newb with rba's.

I have an AGA-S I was messing with to no avail. I am thinking it will be easier with a bit more space to work with, the AGA-S is 16mm.

In general: Yes you can get 28 gauge to work with the Provari.
Specifically: You can get any wire to work with the Provari, if you keep the ohms within its operating threshold.

What amount of resistance do you desire?

Also, congratulations on your acquiring two amazing devices! I am certain you will enjoy them thouroghly.

Congrats to Azphat12 & Fury ~ Welcome to the Provari club.

I rebuild wicks on my Vision Vivi Nova's. I use 32ga and control the ohms with the number of wire wraps. I have no experience with any other rebuilds. Doubt that I will be much help in answering your question as my experience is limited to vvn.

What do you use for the wick? Anything specific would be great. I use a mini nova on 14650 mods for my on the go, I'm kind of sick of buying new heads.

I use White Cotton that I purchase from Joann's fabric, Michaels, Wal-mart, etc.
Cost: $2.59 to $4.00 - All are White 100% Cotton.

* Aunt Lydia's Crochet Thread SIZE 3
* Artistic Crochet Cotton SIZE 8
* Lily brand Sugar N Cream Yarn
* 100% cotton cosmetic rounds

Boil it before you use it. I boil it about 15 minutes and change the water a couple times. I find I much prefer the cotton over silica or fiberglass. Cotton brings out the flavor of juices. I have juices here that I vaped for a long time. The first time I had them with a cotton wick, it was amazing! I could not believe the difference in the taste. You need to let the cotton sit and wick for a bit before you start vaping, but it is well worth the wait.

Here is a thread that has quite a bit of info about cotton wicking material. You might find it helpful:

I tried bamboo. Was not for me.
I tried hemp. Was not for me.
ymmv- taste is subjective :)

Hope this helps a little,
Paula

I love it! Nothing like some granny know-how to put these boys on the right track! ;) I keep all my gear in a nifty sewing box.

lol - The credit for the idea goes to other folks in that thread I linked. They came up with the idea and did all the leg work for me. This forum is filled with creative, innovative, sharing & caring people. They seem to feed off each other when it comes to ideas and solving problems. This is a great group of people.

Gonna get tight. You might need one or two more windings.

Could have been my post ... same identical thing happened to my AGA-T here less than 5 minutes ago.

32 ga works fine with the ZAP, but I think I'll step up to 28/30 ga with the AGA-T because I know it's gonna happen again.
