Well... it'll certainly shut up the people who say all those button presses on the Provari are too complicated.

I don't know... I'll probably get one when it becomes available, but compared to what's already out there... it looks like a solution in search of a problem.

Sorry. I'm probably wrong. That's just what the video makes it seem like.

PS: I wish development money would be going into making the permanent attie. I'm sure it can be done... it's just going to cost a lot of money to develop it.

Just got an email update on this.

Dear Friends of the Eclipse eq,

We Hope that this update finds all of you well, and we can't thank you enough for your excitement regarding the Eclipse eq.

We had hoped to meet our pre- release/pre order deadline of the end of this month MAY as we said in our last update but due to some parts not arriving on time, and our machine shop having some technical difficulties we we not able to make that happen.

We are moving back on track now as fast as we can, and things are coming together now with production better than ever! With our machine shop back online and our parts coming soon. We know how excited you are to have your very own Eclipse because we are just as excited as well!

We hope that you will understand that we have many hurdles to jump over to bring a device of this caliber to light, and take that in to consideration when we ask you once again for your patients, and to hang on tight with us because the end result will be nothing less than amazing and totally worth the wait.

During the next month we will be continuing production, assembly, and finalizing the Instruction Manual and this will be available for all to read even before the device becomes available for sale for your reading pleasure.

Another exciting update is that the Eclipse eq will now have a 1 year limited warranty on all internal electronic components+control surfaces, excluding the pump (rated at 6000hr's) which will have a 6 month limited warranty due to large variances in e-liquid compositions and ingredients that we have no control over.

We have set the clock back for pre-order notification to June 30th, 2011 ( This is NOT the date that the Eclipse will go for sale) But the date that you all will be sent an email for the actual time that pre-sale will begin.

We will be in touch as move forward with our project, and thank you again for your patients.

Best Regards and Well Wishes,

Michael and Mario

Well, the above changed my mind about buying one... I'm not going spend $300 on a device with a pump -- the only really novel thing on said device -- that only carries a six month warranty. The designers need to make that pump easily available and pretty much a "pull out the old, pop in the new" item for this item to have any life at all.

Sorry... I'm not cheap when it comes to e-cigs... I have a Provari and a Darwin, and I've had several high-end bottom feeders... but there's only so much risk I'm willing to take.

I agree with you TNT that the pump should be easily replaceable but lets look at 6000 hours

21,600,000 seconds

Lets say it takes 5 seconds to pump enough get 5-7 pulls and you do this 500 times a day
so 2500 seconds a day, of time, on the pump
in a year 912,500 seconds
23.67 years before the pump breaks

just got finished watching, the features are definitely definitely nice, i just wish they went with a LED type menu system instead.. the whole "hold 3 seconds, tap 4 times" for all the different features might turn some people off..

i don't mind techy stuff and i'm sure anyone will get the hang of it after a while.. but the general population in this forum seem to be of the "older" crowd, and that might steer away the most common age demographic

but these are just my initial thoughts without actually having used one..

Well it is just one more step over the Provari and (most) people don't seem to mind that. As an added bonus once you get it set you probably will not change it for a while since you will be putting your favorite juice in there and leaving it for a while... at least that's what I plan to do.
