Conventional knowledge indicates E-Cigs are safer than cigarettes, but the question is by how much. This new report from the University College London Team attempts to discuss the subject.

BBC News - E-cigarette criticisms 'alarmist' say researchers

While the team researchers are generally in favor of vaping, they nevertheless admit that additional research is needed to asses its long term health effects. They therefore still recommend some degree of regulation.

It is assuring to know that the information comes from a university, not from an expert on the payroll of special interests. But then again even learning institutions are often sponsored by special interests.

That was a decent read, but it still drives me insane every time I read the phrase "little hard data" in reference to e-cigarettes. Little hard data that backs what naysayers believe perhaps.

In the real world, we can not get everyone to agree to the exact same thing. I personally would not want to see it that way.

True, but that's not quite the same thing as willfully ignoring facts.

EDIT: This article was well written. It just bothers me that all of the real science is suppressed and hidden/ignored.

This is what the e-cig market needs, unbiased research from accredited universities from around the globe which don't have any sort of agenda.
Even if it comes to light that they are worse than we think now, if its an unbiased opinion from multiple sources then so be it.
I really cant ever see it being as bad as cigarettes though, but I am not a Biologist or Chemist. :)
