Dog ???. Confused.

i was joking as stated about the dog.

so i've been using one of the new ones for a bit. not sure if it needed to break in, but its better now, not super no maintenance like a CE2, but its pretty good, vape is nice, don't really have to worry about dry hits. i'll see if this can manage to work without leaking for a bit.

Ok guys, I've been playing with mine for awhile now, here are my findings...

They can, and sometimes do leak, from a few drops, to almost pouring out. This is directly caused by the wick. If the wick is to thin, it will leak, how much depends on how thin the wick. Reversely, if the wick is too thick, not only will it not leak, it will not work (dry burn, no vappy). I have discovered this by playing with the wicks, trying various types, CE2, thin Bulli, and SS mesh, and SS mesh wrapping thin wick.

I have not perfected any method, otherwise I'd post it for you guys, sorry. One of mine is using one of my SS wicks that is working pretty good. My other is a CE2 wick, and these can be a fraking pain to get in.

I've also discovered that the plug is vital for the Sapphire to work. While testing various wicks, (when assembled, filling with water to check for leaks, if it doesn't leak with water, it wont leak juice) I noticed that if I put my finger (or the rubber stopper) over the hole, even a bad leak is minimized, and of course once I remove my finger, water/juice practically flows out the carto.

When one of these finally dies, I'll be attempting to replace the coil. I'm pretty sure it can be done, I did it successfully with the Vortex, and this looks to be about the same ease/difficulty.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with these, nothing is perfect, or perfect for long. For me these are just the right size for juice and pocket, and give the best vaping experience for me.

Hope this helps.

the new ones with the new wick seem to be working okay at this point, maybe they needed to break in. with the originals, no matter what wick I used, they were horrible, I tried ce2 wick, wouldn't work, was dry hits most of the time, tried thinning it down, still didn't work.

I really like these, the major problem is since it wicks from the bottom, you basically have to fit your juice to the wick.

If you have a problem with dry hits . . .

I've found when the vapor starts to dry up all I need to do to get it working like a chimney is

* Remove the whistle tip mouthpiece
* Remove the little filler plug thingy
**This is the important bit.
* Place your lips over the saphire (about halfway down is good) making sure the air tube and the filling hole are both inside the mouth and not blocked by the lips.
* Give a tiny little blow into the tube. This does a number of things.
1. It equalizes the pressure in the tube (if its needed),
2. It acts like the pump on the pump carts by forcing the juice just that little bit into the wick,
3. By having both the air tube and filling hole in your mouth when you blow there is no chance of forcing the juice up the air tube.
* Replace the plug and mouthpiece.

This makes mine work like they should, and it takes no time at all.

Also, every time I do a refill on these I use a pipe cleaner to dry the condensation out of the air tube. It doesn't quite fit so I make the hole/slot in the air tube a little bigger using a small drill bit and a pair of pliers. Takes about 1 second to do.

I use the pipe cleaners on all my carto's with air tubes. eGo-T's, 510-T's, Torpedo's, Mega Smart Carts. It's so easy.

i woudln't recommend this, all you going to do is flood the atomizer quicker. I have no problems with dry hits, its too much fluid getting in the chamber already, i'd hate to speed up theprocess.

It looks like the factory is trying to perfect what wick to use...I'm not sure whether wick expands once wet, but perhaps that could answer whats going on. Dry wick, or moist in shipment...who knows. But the wick is the key factor on how well these work, and Im sure will derive different results for different vapors.
All I know is I was just fine until they started dumping liquid, and no way to tell beforehand which ones will be troublesome.

I have the new redesigned ones and one was dumping liquid but has stopped now, i've been using both of them for a at least 15 tankfuls already through each with no problems. i'm scared to take them apart eventually to dryburn as i'm sure the wick will get messed up.

It is easy to forget to reinsert the small fill stem...if you get any sort of leaking always double-check that you have indeed reinserted this...it will also cause gurgling and a poor vape. If you do forget to reintsall it you basically should flip the sapphire and blow out from connector in into your juice bottle or it it is a small amt, into a napkin....makign sure the air passage way is fairly well dry...refill, revape...

It seems to me that the issues are juice dependent. A thin juice will be more prone to leakage. A thick juice will be more prone to dry hits. Perhaps the solution is 2 types of Sapphire. One with a thin wick for thick juices, and one with a thick wick for thin juices.

hence the ultimate problem with the sapphires and anything that wicks from the bottom. however the new batch are performing pretty well.

Thank you erbine, you have given me an idea! You are exactly right, we can make wicks dependent upon the type of juice we intend to use, EXCELENT! :)

I know your intention was for the manufacturer to do this, but I doubt they will find it economical to do so, but we can easy enough. :)

to get the facotry to start making products based on juice aint happening, they inveneted ejuice practicly and they think some of our juice that we use is not proper, i have sent some juices that cause issues and they will do what they can to make them work as good as they can but understand china designs systems based on the juices they use and juices like eco clear. There is no way to expect them to make a product to work with juices that have issues to begin with, if a juice isnt wicking great in one device or gunks up badly or is brown and thick etc and doesnt soak in filler easy etc..

so we will do what we can but as i mentioned many times not every juice will work in all systems equally but simple juice work just fine and they do not make them to work with 100%vg either as there vg version is thinnned down while some usa juices are rather thick.

anyone cleaned a new one yet? i understand that the wick is like one piece now or something so I shouldn't have to replace it. one of mine is getting tight on the draw, i been through like 20 tanks so I can't really expect more. so figure i'll try and do a dry burn. i tried one time with the plastic on and the dry burn heated the plastic till it slid off anyway.

have you removed the mp and blow out the battery end , then replace and try to vape, usually that alleviate some of the tight draw, unless you have been vaping it to death and its gunked up, then it needs a cleaning
