As expected snus has the goods. What is interesting is the peak of nicotine for snus is one hour after starting. Also how long the nicotine last. Even at two hours there are still good amounts of nicotine. That explains very nicely why I can get by on 5 or 6 grams (or less) of snus and never have a hint of withdrawal. I have at times simple forgotten to do a snus and gone for 4 hours since my last fresh snus before I noticed it. I would never have been able to do that with cigarettes.

Very interesting study, Stubby, particularly the graphical representation.

Is there similar data/representation for e-cigs with a fairly stout dose of nicotine? Would like to see such if you can refer me to it. I searched around and haven't found anything yet.

Thank you.

From my understanding there is a lot more variables with e-cigs then with smokeless tobacco. The type of hardware used, vaping technique etc can have a significant effect on results.

For me a more interesting question would be, is inhalation actual necessary for absorption of nicotine in e-cigs? There where some early studies that had shown that most of the nicotine was absorbed via the mucus membrane and not the lungs. This would mean the uptake of nicotine was through the mouth and nose.

Yup Snubby, I'm right there with you. My fa vorite is the late night mint to send me into dreamland.

I agree with you Hitt and it's probably why vaping has gotten to be so secondary with me. I wouldn't touch an e cig if it was just to suck the vapor into my mouth and exhale. If I'm going to that, I'll just pop a snus.
