I asked Mike Vapes to do the round-robin check...reduce wattage down to 1 until it auto stops, let go of the down button, push it again, it should roll over to 40w. Can do that in reverse too, raise watts until it auto stops at 40, release up button, tap up again, rolls around to 1w.
That's pretty unique and leads me to believe Kangxin and Waidea's chips come from the same source. The startup message ("Hello" or "KX-40D", or "DNA40", or "Eat My Shorts" are all easily customized when these things are being flashed).
EDIT: Mike just confirmed it round robins on the Invader, for what that's worth.
