Hey everyone,

I just got a 510. I've been a 401 user for about a year, and recently ordered this 510 for my girlfriend. I am new to the 510 style of atomizer, and would like some advice on what I should be teaching my gf when I give it to her. I am a dripper when I use my 401, but occasionally I will use carts with blue foam mod. I've been trying out her 510 for a few minutes, and so far dripping has been working, albeit a little bit more of a hassle with the recessed atty. SO my questions are:

When dripping with the 510, how many drops is TOO much? i.e., how easy is it to flood the atty?

For cart mods, what works best?(I know this is subjective)

The 510 cart is different from the 401 cart, in that the 401 carts use a little 'cup' inside the mouthpiece which contains the filler. I notice that the 510 cart is quite a bit bigger, and therefore should hold a bit more juice. How many drops on average should a blue foam modded cart hold?

Feel free to direct me to other threads or other mods. I'm so used to my M4 series PVs that this 510 seems different and strange! But I'm sure my gf with love it.

these are tough questions since drop size can vary depending on the viscosity of the liquid. 3 or 4 drops on the bridge is generally enough for dripping. The cart should take about 0.5 mL of liquid. So I would guess about 15 drops, give or take, to fill it. I general just add until it is full and pooling on top a bit.

If the atty gets flooded, recently I've started to not do what I used to do, which was take it all apart and blow out the atty. Now I take off the filled cart, put on an empty one, no filler, and then just vape what has flooded the atty. A few drags and it is unflooded, and I'm not wasting the liquid into a paper towel. Of course, occasionally it is flooded too much, and one has to blow it out, but most of the time I find it can be vaped.

The 510 is a great PV, but somewhat finicky. The blue foam helps a lot, from what I've read, but I use the ZFM mod (zero-filler) which is an auto-drip variant. I do want to try the blue foam, though, since I have to fill the ZFM with a syringe generally, and dripping liquid into the cart would be more convenient if that filler is working and emptying entirely as advertised.

Thanks. I bought the 510 for a gift for my girlfriend, and she's loving it. I made her a couple of cart mods, a few blue foam and a few PTBs. I also made her a few bottles of e-juice and put them in some dropper bottles with nozzles long enough to drip with the 510 atty. She's both dripping and using carts back and forth, and loving it.

The 510 definitely has quite a bit of power behind it. Both of us were used to my 401s, and she's still getting used to the throat hit of the 510. Might end up trading her a 401 for her 510, which I wouldn't be too upset about!

Throat hit is supposedly stronger with the 510, but I have no experience with other 3-piece models. Higher nic of course, as you no doubt know, gives a stronger TH. PG can increase the TH, while VG gives less of a TH. I use VG-only juices, thinned (as they must be) with about 20% distilled water. MY ZFM still gives a good TH at 14 mg.

Perhaps initially your gf should be using less PG or less nic until she is used to it. I have compared the 510 to analogs, and the 510 almost always gives a much bigger TH than the real thing! So for me, anyway, more TH is even more non-analog, and not really something I'm trying to increase.

Good luck!
