Hey everyone, My name is Jeff and I am a long time smoker (22 years) and I am making the switch to ecigs (hopefully)
I tried blu's for about 3 minutes and hated them. I did a little research and I am hoping my order I made last night was the right one
Kanger mini pro 2
1 KGO battery w/ charger
and a couple of 18 MG VG liquids
My biggest concerns are.....
I am a pack a day guy, how many ML's of fluid should I expect to use daily
How much life on average do you get from a coil and the recharging life expectancy of an average battery?
I'm not trying to spend a ton of $$ at this point since I am not 100% convinced this will replace actual tobacco for me but hopefully I have made a decent enough purchase to get a good start. my shipping tracker says it should be here Monday.....I'm very anxious!
Thanks all! Can't wait to see how this goes Monday!

I am an ex-smoker after 1-2 PAD for 30 years. When I started vaping with 18mg, it was quite satisfactory. The amount of nic you actually receive depends on how much you vape. The 18mg means 1.8% nic by volume in 1 mL of juice, and you don't actually absorb all of that. So, it is hard to state figures, as it depends largely on how many puffs and your vaping style (long or short pulls, deep inhales straight to the lungs or mouth-to-lung inhales, and how long you hold the vapor in before exhale). Many variables to consider there. The best advice I can give is, try it out. The nic mg content is really not the main thing. Satisfaction from vaping and not smoking burnt leaves are the main things. Each vaper has to go through this trial-and-error period of adjusting nic levels and vaping styles to find what works best for the individual. With all of that said, once you find your sweet spot, burnt rolls will be a thing of the past and you will feel a lot better and your overall health will improve. Good luck, my friend.

Welcome to ECF! Your new setup sounds pretty good to me. I really like my mini pros on my eGo batteries.

If you wind up vaping a lot, one small KGO might not get you through the day. Might want to pick up another one and another tank to keep your flavors rotating and your batteries fresh. What is the mAh on your battery? This will give you a rough estimate of your vape-time on that particular battery.

You'll probably vape around 1-2 mils per day at first, or more if you end up vaping more because it's so delicious! (I vape around 3 now.) Some people vape more, and some less, so it really just depends on how much you like to vape.

Average life of your coil really depends on the kind of juice you are using with it. If it's a heavy VG blend or particularly sweet, or really dark, you will go through coils much faster. I get about 1 week on a coil, then I soak it in vodka and do a dry burn. This gets me very far on my coils. I have a pretty strict cleaning schedule and I get a full month or more out of a coil that I clean regularly. Some people get more, some get way less.

Yay for Vape mail on Monday! Good luck and keep searching here on ECF for info and support! You can quit smoking with ecigs. There are so many success stories here! Welcome!

I have a lot to learn, I will start with cleaning and "dry burning" for coil life. I plan on getting a better battery or two and another tank once I am sure this will work. With the blu's I felt like something was missing when I vaped. Throat hit was one thing that lacked for certain.
I am planning on 100% VG at this point since it seemed more natural. Though I have read PG carries flavor better. Heck, I think any flavor that's not .... nasty tobacco will be good haha. Thanks for the advice all! I

Glad you are trying out a VG juice. I really like a 50/50 blend myself, because PG does carry the flavor a little better. PG also provides more of a throat hit so just be wary of that. I can't use too much PG in my e-liquids because it irritates my throat. The "missing" feeling in the Blu's is largely due to the wimpy battery. They really don't work that well. Remember to explore all that there is in juices. Right now, you might think that vaping mentholated watermelon is silly and gross, then wait 3 months, and you will find that your tastes do change. Good luck with your vaping odyssey!

What is with the water?
Drinking a lot of water, in addition to the health benefits of drinking water, flushes flavoring and nicotine residues off of your tongue to help prevent any potential chemical burns and "vaper's tongue." Rotating your flavors helps as well, as your taste buds may get accustomed to a flavor and become non-stimulated by it (then it won't taste right for a while). Water helps with this as well. Also, as previously mentioned, e-juice is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs water, and it will absorb that water right out of your tongue. This leads to the dry mouth effect, and sometimes a funky taste to go along with it.

To the OP:

Congrats on the move to vaping.

I hope your equipment works out for you, but, if not, don't worry--we all seem to go through a change or two with our hardware before we really find what works best for us. Keep an open mind on that point.

I wouldn't worry about the amount of e-liquids you might go through in a day. That varies a lot at the beginning. I've ben vaping for about 2 years now, and I seem to vape less at this point than when I started (a 12 ML bottle will last me close to a week, now).

I will say this, though--if you give e-cigs an honest chance, the odds are good that you'll leave the tobacco alone for good.

Good luck with the vaping, and don't forget to check these forums as you vape away!
