Hey, welcome to my world! I just trades two 510 auto batts for two KR808 mega batts. What a nice trade. I like the sensor much better, and the higher voltage provides a nice warm vape. Is there anyway to tell if I have the sound activated batts or pressure sensitive batts(serial number)? I have tried to set them off w/ sound, they seem to be pressure sensing since they do not fire when I yell into it. lol I believe they are V4L, but I'm not sure. Anyway to tell for sure?

Also, anyone try the V4L VG cartos? The price is right, and I usually only vape VG. Just not sure how the flavor and carto quality are.

An easy way to tell is to blow into the 'led' end of the battery. If it lights up it's sound activated.

I still love the KR8. I think 3.7 volts may be my sweet spot although I haven't tried anything higher. It's satisfied me for 11 months so it must be right.

Not true, pressure activated PVs will light up too as they are designed to pull air through the batt. I took it on a car ride through some traffic w/ the windows and sunroof down and it did not activate. I am going to have to assume that it is not sound activated. I do like it, but there is a slight hesitation to the switch in comparison to my SMokeStik batts. However, they do not pack as big a punch(not much less...3.4v loaded). But when I wanted a nic fix this morning, the first thing I grabbed was my KR8.

Since it is 2010 I'm almost positive you have air activative bats. None of my bats since purchased from aug 2010 are activated by sound. Air will activate the auto bats though. Like the previous poster said, air comes through the end cap when blown on. Not that it really matters. None of my auto bats have gone off due to sound. But thats just me. I carry them around all the time. Into resauraunts, on busy streets, etc.. I have never carried them into bars or music venues though.

All I know is that it isn't sound activated. I stuck it out my sunroof at 40MPH and it didn't go off. lol I should have tried that first. And from what I have been told, all the early KR8s are vacume activated, while some of the newer ones are sound activated. Not the other way around. It's a cheaper way of doing things, so some manufacturers are switching over.

The KR808D-1 from V4L was my first love, and I still use my KR808, although since getting my TorneGos months ago I've been using them less. I never liked the 510 batteries, not even the mega batts, even though they were an improvement over the standard 510 batteries. I just never got into 510 atomizers at all until LRs came out, and put that in with an eGo XL battery and they stole some of my KR808's thunder.

It's nice that you can use a 901 atomizer on your KR808 without any adapter. With that arrangement, you can even drip if you choose ... but, not recommended with the auto batteries. I only buy the manuals.

Hi LowThudd -
I vape mega 808 autos, one of them I got from V4L and then I got two more from GoodProphets. The V4L one has no logo on it, none of them do. I love them. They take a long time to charge and I wish they'd last even longer than they do, but they vape very well. Having three of them though, I usually have one charged. A while back I got a PT and that fills in just fine when needed. I just this week sent for a GreenWorld G400 auto 2-piece which seems like a super-mega 808 batt from the way it's described. That's the first different PV for me since starting out with 808s - I've just been very pleased with them and with cartos. I see zero reason to deal with attys and dripping.

I also use nothing but V4L VG cartos with my 808s (VG milk chocolate), so that in itself says how much I like them. I use V4L's VG milk chocolate juice with them too, cut down from 36mg to between 6-10 mgs with Capella flavoring (dark chocolate + a drop or two of super sweet). I just don't want to vape anything else, I really like it.

So that's a big "yes" on both the mega 808 batts and the V4L VG cartos. But YMMV (your mileage may vary).

My thought is that the G400 and the new E2 ceramic XL 808 cartos with it might be similar to what I have going now only better - better being lasting longer between batt charges and carto refills. If so, I'll have all that I'm looking for in a PV. All the E2 suppliers I know of happen to be sold out right now and China orders won't be processed until after their holiday, but I intend to try them as soon as more are available somewhere. Meanwhile, I ordered some mega 808 cartos to try with the G400 (and the 808 mega batts or course).

I'm still on the KR8 train. I liked the XL battery's life but not the length. Seemed just a tad too long, kind of like an analog in a holder like Cruella D'ville style. My fave setup is the KR8 breed of Ego. I have 3 Elegant batteries I rotate. I think they're 750 mah. Feel a bit like a shorty stogie which I liked better than the XL. And charge much faster too.

If you want to vape VG only I might suggest just getting blanks and filling yourself. Cigeasy Gold Label are a bit better than V4L cool carts from my experience. I've also heard good things about Vapornine turbos but have not tried any. Seems like many are out of stock right now.
