I'm using the smokelessimage volt right now. I cannot get these cartomizers to burn -- when they get low they start putting out less vapor and if I keep on vaping them until absolutely no vapor, it just gives that toasty taste like when dripping on an atty and need to add drops. I refill it, it's back to totally perfect. Nice warm vape, lots of vapor and flavor. I get 5 hours out of a filled cart and they only hold 1ml of juice. So now I'm not only getting a great vape, I'm using far less juice than I was before. Lovin' these things.

I have the bloog and i am having some issues with mine, i am actually going to send it back as i believe it is defective. But i have also had 2 other kr808d1 batts,One was a Xl that has out performed every other one i have had, i assume it is the older style. It has the smoothest quickest switch and i can just inhale like i am breathing and it activates and stays so steady and smooth.I would love to find some more battery's like that.As the bloog i find myself having to pull so hard i get a sore throat just to keep it activated as it is not smooth at all .Here is a comparison of the Xl batt and Bloog,If anyone knows where i can pick up some that are like the battery on the left let me know

The one on the left is a reg kr8 batt, you can get those everywhere. But not all are from same manu, witch means there can be differences. If the carto you tested the bloog with, is the same that works great on the other, then yes theres something wrong with it. MF's dont have a hard draw, im using one now, hands free with a nhaler horiz carto and only have to take the lightest of pufs. What cartos are you using? If its the old ones, that could also be the prob.

Is there a way of determining genuine vs knock-off KR8 batt/cartos by how they perform and/or look?

The reason I ask is that I'm very happy with the two batts I got from V2cig (not so much price-wise), but the "no-name" cheapy I just got from litecig is just that - a cheapy IMHO. I'm pretty sure the V2's are genuine, but not entirely sure.

For example in differences:
--the V2's have a fairly long cut-off time (10 sec?); the cheapy cuts off at 5 seconds or less it seems (I like long drags, lol)
--the V2's tips blink at first when charging and then go out; the cheapy blinks and then stays lit.

I haven't bought any more cartos since my initial purchases from V2, but I've noticed there are quite a few differences. Most had the rubber plugs and the horizontal atty (I had a DOA and tore it apart for kicks). You can tell the horizontals because you can't see daylight looking through them and the "post" in the condoms is skinnier and shorter. I haven't really noticed much difference between the horizontal/vertical attys as far as performance. Also, the few in the sampler that had plastic plugs had no other plug or material between it and the wadding.

Oh, and I accidentally "flooded" my V2 auto - it got to the point where I had to suck hard to get it to fire. But was able to get it working properly again by gently cleaning the center post with a rolled up bit of paper towel - then just kept using it while constantly mopping up fluid until it started working properly again. I have a feeling that if it was a knockoff, it would have been a lost cause.

Not sure exactly. I've used the drip method and the cap (condom) method. I'm always very careful to keep the "posted" cap on when doing the drip-method and always wipe out the threads either way. I probably overfilled them a little too much - combined with them bouncing around in my pocket, dropping them, etc... fluid just seems to seep out the end and build up occasionally, I've noticed. After a refill, I've gotten into the habit of puffing them a few times on my manual before using them on my auto.

Also, I get impatient and don't usually wait for it to soak very long; I'm aware I probably should with either method :/

You're definitely over filling.
There is no other way for the e-juice to leak out the bottom. The sure fire way to prevent leaking out the bottom is when you are done filling (the method doesn't matter). Blow through the cap end of the cart. Not the screw end - the plastic cap end. If there is any juice in the center tube, or if the level of juice is higher than the length of the tube - blowing it out will remove it. Wipe the bottom of the cart (screw end) and you shouldn't have any more leaks.

Let me know if that works.

CigEasy's got the new horizontal coil cartomizers. They call them “Mini Go-carts” after the mega-carto Go-cart. I refilled one 8 times before I had to clean it. After cleaning it was performing like new. Go to Cigeasy and click on “DIY EMPTY CARTOMIZERS” you’ll see off on the right, “NEW EMPTY MINI GO CARTS.”

I am really impressed with these cartos.
