At least the guy at the shop sold you that efest IMR battery. I've heard horror stories of people getting sold subohm setups, built by the shop, with ICR (not chemistry safe) batteries and just sent on their merry way without even a cautionary comment by the shop that they had a potential pipe bomb on their hands.
Yeah, that's ridiculous. The guy at my shop seemed very knowledgeable, just never mentioned the dangers, assuming he knew about them.

I'm sure these shops are getting inundated with kids coming in, wanting to be cloud chasers. Most of the shops sales people get commission. they want to make money, not scare off potential sales with warning of the dangers. Doesn't make it right, but I am guessing that's probably how they feel.

I know I was technically ok at .27, or as "ok" as anyone can be doing something like that lol. Just drives me mad that I was a few ohms from potentially burning my face off and literally had no idea it was remotely dangerous.

I need to order some more kanthal too. Soooo many different builds I want to try!!

a few milliohms maybe?

If you stick with 1 ohm, it makes the math easier!

One more question...I noticed a very small spark between my button and bottom of battery tube occasionally (maybe 20%) of the time when I press my button in. Battery never gets warm, but button does get a little warm. Is this a problem??? My common sense says it is, but figured I'd ask you guys...

After reading some of the supplied links, I think I will stick with what I have for the time being. Wayyy too much I don't understand yet.

I'm right with ya its scary stuff, sound like a great idea to RBA coils but allot involved and u have to be an electrician to understand it.

I love to tinker with things(mechanically) but electricity has always been over myhead, can't understand what I can't see.

I suck at math, I need all the help I can get lol.

Allot of young adults now days have problems. Why? Cause schools let kids use calculators instead of their brains.

I loved math, hated english/spelling. Took all the tuff math classes and back in those days(70's) we used our brains.
