Whats going on guys/gals. I had been smoking cigarets for 3 years and i was tired of waking up with that morning cough, and over all feeling like crap from cigs. So i decided to try an E-cig because one of my friends made me try the Blue e-cigs. I really liked it but it did not hit hard enough for me and i did not like any of the flaves. So i went to the local smoke shop and bought the Fumitech LCD/VARIABLE VOLTAGE e-cig. I really like it.... But i know i can get better ones then that. Any body know some good beginner set-ups that are still sick and high-tech? And whats the difference from a wick tank, and all the other ones? I really want to get a tank without the wick in because it seems like every time i change flavors i can still taste what i had in it before. Some help would be nice since i have no clue what i am talking about. I'm way into this e-cig and i want to know more. Thanks people :2cool:

Also wanted to add im sure i can answer most my questions by looking through the forum's. links to some topics would also be helpful. thanks again!

You can get rid of the flavor out of tanks by soaking them in PGA or cheap Vodka. Soak for 5 to 48 hours, whatever you feel is necessary. Set on a paper towel to air dry for another 24 hours and they're good as new.

There's a lot of different wick tanks. BCC like the Protank/Evod/Puritank, etc and top-coils like the iClear 16s and 30s, among others. BCC will give you a cooler vape, top-coils will give a warmer vape. So take that into consideration when deciding what to purchase based on what type of vape you like more (Warm or cool).

As far as PVs, you can't go wrong with a Vision Spinner. Cheap, highly effective, easy to use, and reliable. If you want something more advanced like an APV, check out this video guide by Grimm Green. He explains things very nicely and puts it in perspective, especially for new vapers who aren't sure what's out there and what those products might perform like.

Hope you find something you like!

Vape well, vape often :vapor:

Hello and welcome to ECF!!

First Blue is just a faze and not for someone who really wants to quit, but you know that....so I'll go on LOL

ALL tanks (correct me if I'm wrong) have some sort of wicking system, they have to, just a matter of fact. But if your into changing juices, try getting a few Ego type of tanks. Their not very expensive, and with a few of them with different juices, you can change up whenever you want. The reason you're getting past flavors is probably because your not cleaning the wick before changing juice. Typically, you have to clean the atomizer with hot water or cheap vodka and let it dry over night. Some juices just can't be removed completely, like menthol flavors and such.

I usually recommend a simple Vision spinner or Ego twist for these tanks as well. They are VV and really easy to dial the voltage around!!

Good luck!!

When you say high tech, the Joye Evic comes to mind :p its cool and high tech for sure but it has a jog dial for the settings and I'm not particularly a fan of that. On the up though the Evic has the USB Micro port on the side eliminating the need for a seperate charger which is extremely handy. As for atomizers, theres literally hundreds of different types as mentioned before BCC's will be a cooler hit but they last a lot longer and a lot of them can be rebuilt. As for killing the former flavor of a tank, most of the time a quick rinse in hot water will do the trick, I would perhaps save the vodka for the really strong flavors like Anise or Coffee flavors. I honestly vape through an old flavor if it doesn't clash to badly after about half a tank usually the old flavor dissipates and the new one shines through. If money is tight the Vamo would be my suggestion, its 30-40 dollars from fasttech or 50 or so from a stateside vendor.

Make sure you check everything out before buying anything!! Otherwise you'll be trying this that and the other, and still be looking. Check out the quality regulated variable devices. Will probably be what you end up with in the long run. SVD, VTR, Provari, Telsa, Lavatube, are just a few that come to mind, then there is the atomizer, this is what ultimately creates the Vape that is delivered. No matter how good of a pvd you have, it's limited by the quality of atomizer. Search long and hard, reviews, comparisons, then find what is best for you and your goals, and go with that!!

What exactly is dry burning? And I'm about to get a ce8 wick less, do you know how to clean that?

Dry burning is when you run power to the coil with no juice, hence... Dry. You do this to burn the crud off a coil until it glows red. 3 to 5 second pulses and let cool between and no more than 6 or 7pulses at best.

Thank you very much, so I'll let it sit in alcohol (is rubbing alcohol okay?) for 6 hours, rinse with hot water, air dry 12, then dry burn. Do I need to take the atomizer apart, and is therd anything I shouldn't put in the alcohol?

I haven't used anything but vodka in my ultrasonic cleaner, so can't answer about rubbing alcohol... Sorry.

Take it apart so that the atomizer head is in alcohol, nothing else. All else can be rinsed in hot water.

I recommend the Itaste MVP if you don't mind the box shape.
It's running $45.00 at FastTech.
It's super simple to use and the battery [Lasts for 2 Days]is built in.

In addition it will charge with any Micro USB Cable. So no battery or charger decisions.

Pair it with a ProTank and you should be a happy camper.
This is a review on it.
