Hi, so I am new to vaping, and I am looking to buy one, but I know nothing about them.
I am a former smoker, and I am trying to be health conscious. I am interested in the popular vape pen MONQ, but they aren't refillable/reusable and too expensive to have to buy over and over again. The allure to them is that they are natural, nicotine and chemical free, and you're only vaping a mix of essential oils. They are also very pretty and slim and sleek. So, basically, I am looking for a refillable, reusable version of the vape pen I have just described. No e-liquids, just oils, no nicotine, nothing bulky, etc.
Does anyone have any idea where I can find something like that? Because I have absolutely no idea where to even start looking. Preferably something that won't break the bank, either.

Thanks!

The product you're talking about isn't an e-cig. It's an aromatherapy product(?). There are pod mods available for vaping that can be refilled by the user, but filling and vaping essential oils isn't necessarily the healthy thing to do, especially if you're mixing them yourself. It's one thing to have a lavender oil heated and gently scenting a room, and another to suck it into your lungs. Essential oils I'm familiar with were never designed for that use.

I've read in a few different places that inhaling essential oils (or oil of any kind) is not really recommended because it is dangerous. Perhaps just get a diffuser and use essential oils in that manner instead?

MONQ is 100% marketing exaggeration preying on people who dont understand vaping.
Almost every single link tracks back to their own site and marketing information. Most have misinformation and some have downright lies.

It's just a PV that usesVG based juice with flavorings which they call "essential oils".
They are extremely vague.
Vaping "oil" isnt healthy at all.

I would continue to research vaping in general.

If you aren't trying to stop smoking, and really care about being healthy, I would forget vaping and just breathe air.

Never, EVER vape oils. Essential or otherwise.

Ecigs create a vapor to mimic smoking without the tar and smoke associated with getting nicotine from a traditional cigarette.

A link to our ECF Library: The ECF Library

Ecigs use a liquid combination comprised of PG, VG, Nicotine and a water based flavoring(s) or a combination of any of those. None contain any type of oil.

Others have already cautioned you about the danger of vaping oils. I hope you will take the warnings seriously since you are trying to be health conscious. It looks to me like the MONQ is a gimmick being put out there for folks that don't know any better. I am glad that you came here for information. We don't have a horse in this race so we will tell you the truth.

This is a very nice vape pen for you since you want something that is very pretty, slim and sleek and it definitely will not break the bank. With this kit and a bottle of 0 nicotine e-liquid you will be set. 0 nicotine e-liquid should only contain PG and/or VG and flavoring. It shouldn't have anything else in it except maybe a small amount of water to thin the VG.

In case the other dozen people don't get through to you about "oils"..

Just don't....and just go back to the top of the thread and re-read every post in here.

Don't feel bad, such companies prey on people that haven't look things up and the vaping world can appear to be complex but once you take a bit of time, you'll see that it isn't.

Not recommended?

Heck, that's putting it crazy lightly. It's bad, like 100% bad... smelling it as per diffusers is one thing, but inhaling it... that's a Darwin waiting to happen something fierce.

I may have thought my response in a more blunt and rude manner but there is a block in my brain that will not permit me to type my response in that fashion. Sorry.

My dear Rainsong,
It's not about being blunt or rude at all, it's about impression and misinformation.

Us (the vaping community that is part of this forum) need to insure that people have proper information... that's all... I know that there's a few in here that insist on providing bad and egocentric information, but for those of us that want to help (which I consider you as part of that as your post are quite fine and nice), we need to provide clear information.

To simply state that inhaling oils is an actual health hazard is not being blunt or rude at all, while stating that "it's not recommended" could leave someone with the feeling that it might mean "while not recommended, you can still do it" can lead to a bad situation.

Personally I'd take "blunt and rude" that is firm in response over something vague, but everyone else in this thread expressed that oils are a hazard in a very polite and direct fashion, and I was surprised at your post that opened a door for confusion.

It gave me an impression of "jumping off a flying plane with a anvil tied around your neck will kill you" provides a certainty that it's bad, opposed to saying "we don't recommend that you do this"... it just sounds like "well, it's not considered a good thing good but you may do it anyways".

I would not feel hesitant in saying that inhaling it via diffusers isn't the best idea either.
It is likely to be multiple times more dangerous than "proper" vaping.

I'd feel much safer vaping than breathing in air fresheners all day.
Same goes for incense.

Not that those cross the line to being BAD for you.
They may or may not, but they are CERTAINLY worse than "proper" vaping.

Monq specifies it's not to be inhaled. Because it's oils.
Vaping is MOSTLY a smoking replacement - and the liquids are inhale-able.
You certainly could look for organic or simple liquids, and almost ANY liquid is available without nicotine. But that Monq thing is kinda different - as you've seen, vapers all think "NO OIL" because breathing THAT in could be bad for you - while for the most part our liquids are not.

Can't say I'm familiar with this company or their devices, but if they are really using essential oils, I'd never touch them and hope they stop before we end up with bad news stories about these things with people getting sick and these things being associated with actual vaping.

It's actually pretty scary to see such products coming out.
