Hi guys, im pretty new to vaping.. been doing it about a month. Over the past week or two I've been having tightness of chest and a little pain on left side. Sometimes my left arm hurts i first thought it was stress or anxiety. I've never had any anxiety symptoms before even under a lot of stress. Today i started thinking maybe it was the nicotine or something in the ejuice.
I think it's weird that its gotten worse over the last few days. Im bummed bcuz i kinda liked this whole vaping thing.
Smoked cigs many years ago and then one day just decided to quit and never went back to it.
I found a flavor that i really liked but after reading some reviews tonight on that brand and looking up other forums about this pain found that it may be from a chemical in certain flavors called diacetyl.
How do you know which ones have diacetyl?
I really don't want to stop but obviously if it's dangerous i will. I will see a dr soon. I know i can't ask for medical advice here but thought some of you may have a little more knowledge on this matter. Thanks!

Chest pain should be evaluated by your doctor as soon as possible. If you get a clean bill of health with no evidence of heart problems, that's when to consider adjusting your vaping. Chest pain can be quite serious, and is not something you should simply wait for the next available appointment with your doctor.

The whole diacetyl thing... if that would be a/the problem, you'd be dead already...

Not because of the vaping, I'm talking about when you smoked. Cigarettes has THOUSANDS of times more diacetyl and every other chemical that the witch hunt is using to scare people with.

So no... every thread that you read is most certainly other people with the same fears that the lies and propaganda has proven to have worked on them to.

These is nothing, not one thing so far, after over 10 years, that has been showed, reported, etc. to be any sort of recognized and proven health issue with vaping.

Not one... nope, not a single person admitted to the hospital, treated, found to have any ailment from anything that has to do with vaping.

The only bad press vaping gets, has only been the stupid people that did not respect lithium batteries and the OHM laws (shorting out their batteries, causing them to vent/explode) or just plain extreme bad luck, as per cell phones/tablets/laptops exploding on people just the same.

What's in vaping liquid, unless you're getting it in an alley in the back of a truck, there should never be more than 4 things... PG, VG, flavouring, nicotine, the last two being optional, all of them tested and used for decades and proven to have absolutely no ill effect, unless the person has a sensitivity (allergy) to it... and even then, it's just a bit of an irritation, yet to hear anything more than a discomfort or such.

Want more info, read this thread:
Wonder if I should be worried..

It was my hubbys vape. Its an Eleaf Istick TC40W
The vape juice is by Kilo, flavor cereal milk. 6mg
I've never had any heart, chest pain or anxiety issues. Im 33 years old.
I haven't noticed any weird heart palpitations just a bit heavy.. makes me want to massage it.
I really don't know much about vaping or the different terminology used to explain the different vapes. I am planning on asking a dr. I really only noticed it being related to the vape last night otherwise i would've already gone

Depending on the tank and coil.. if he sub-ohms and you don't, you might simply have had too much nicotine. Sub-ohming kicks the absorption rate of nicotine almost by double.

It could be because to the way you're breathing while vaping, that if you chain vape, take pulls too deeply, you're possibly simply giving yourself a lack of oxygen.

Also, how long ago did you quit smoking? Your body can/will take some time to adjust, as per some people end up with all sort of side-effect, all of them related to the tar and crap getting out of their system (basically a withdrawal to the poisons, other than nicotine).

But whatever you've read about the whole diacetyl thing.. they are nothing but pumped up lies and part of a hysteria propaganda, nothing more.

Aside that, you might simply be sensitive to something.. just try high PG, then high VG liquids and see which might trigger it more.

Ill have to look up sub- ohms i don't know what that is.
Im not saying it is diacetyl i just wanted more info.
Thanks for helping me. Maybe i need less nicotine.
I quit smoking cigs about 10 years ago just didn't like the taste and smell. Still dont.

If you don't smoke and you're starting to vape for fun... yeah.. don't use nicotine if possible.. stick with 0 or at the most 3mg and under.

If anything, that's probably the cause of your situation here. You're giving yourself a nicotine overdose. At 6mg, it shouldn't be dangerous, but will give you these types of side-effects (heart palpitation, sweats, etc.), unless you have a heart condition (or other health issues).

The sub-ohm thing is the resistance of the coils, it's extremely low resistance which makes the coils heat up really fast and really hot, so you get a lot more vapor (cloud). More and more its becoming the standard as it's simply a better vaping experience for most.

Welcome and glad you joined. Recommend if you vape socially, you want to use zero nicotine e liquid.

Assuming you are vaping your husbands e liquid, correct if wrong, please re post and tell us if you are having the same issues using zero nic juice.

Hi.
I agree with the comments about Nicotine levels. 4,5 years ago people vaped 18, 24 sometimes 36mg. These devices (back then) made less vapor than a cigarette gives off smoke. These days it's more about making at least as much as a cig and then upwards to 'cloud' levels. I started on 24mg and it didn't fix my cravings. (cig-a-like device).
Then got an 'eGo' ecig and vaped 18mg; that worked!
Now I vape 6mg at three times the power of my first 'eGo'.
6mg is only low nicotine in it's strength. Vape it at 4x power and you might match a 24mg eGo set-up.

Another issue that may be part of your trouble may simply be that "your" body cannot handle high VG liquid like your hubby can. That liquid is very high VG.

I had to make my own high PG liquid after discovering the VG was causing all the grief I was experiencing 4 plus years ago when I first started.

Everyone is different. Cheers.
