Hope that helps. LOL

Ha, your guessed my answer rash....

very interested in a couple thing about the boost circuit Break,

How is it's size compared to the 04050 ?
And it's watts rating ?

Same width, can be a little less in length depending on my skills to put it together and slightly taller because of the size of the coil I'm using. Will fit tightly in a 2xAA box

I'm working w/ two different new converters mamu.
One is a step up in this mod and the other is a new boost circuit for a single battery mod.
I see that you used the OKR in the Denali. Very nicely done mamu.

TY!

I'm very happily settled in with using the OKR converter in my mods. If I could find a boost module that didn't have a 2.5A or 15W limit and that could output 6v I might give that a go. Then I would be on a search for a cool case for it.

All of you make me ill... I want such talent. I can do mechanical mods but the chips for VV make my brain bleed.

You took the words outta my mouth. I can handle a set of needle files and a Dremel in my sleep, but all the electronic chatter is like Klingon. I have no idea what they are talking about; in that arena I'm dumber than a bag of hammers.

You are confusing me here. Step up, boost... what's the difference?

I got a cute pre-made Buck-Boost, step up/step down, module that looks interesting. It's about 50 x 23mm and as high as the trimmer, it has two inductors. No other external components are needed. The input voltage is 3-35V, the output 1.25-30V.

No real spec sheet, I'll have to spend more time with it, but it sounds like it can do 3A @ 5V out. Hard to decipher, but it says 18W out and 24W with a heatsink. I'll pair it with my new fav cell, an IMR26650. 4000mAh should make for decent runtimes.

I may actually try to make my first 'pretty' mod and start vaping as I gaze lovenly into a mirror,

OOOps, slip of the type, I meant Step Down Willy.

Your Buck-Boost sounds interesting. 3A is good. Our old handy dandy 04050c was rated at 2.4A @ 5v but I could not get to push more than 2.1A in real life situations.

Previously, I thought I found the perfect converter. The datasheet called it a Buck-Boost but after doing some more research, I realized that the datasheet was a couple of years old and the converter was now a Buck only, same part number. Dam, I thought I hit gold.
