Worth checking out, but data sheet indicates:
Minimum 8Vin required for 3.63-5.5Vout
Minimum 10Vin required for >5.5Vout

FDK has a variety of these, so may actually be looking at the pdf's of another model entirely.

5.6Vdc to 14.0Vdc input
delivers 6A of output
output voltage of 0.8Vdc to 6.6Vdc

I finally got the boost circuit wired up and working at 4.1v to 5.9v with a single 14500. Need to see if it can handle a load. (tomorrow, I'm mentally stressed, or just plain mental) My wife said she smelled wood burning, I told her no, that was just me thinking.
The first build was a disaster seems I fried the chip. These chips are oven soldered and I put too much heat using a soldering station so I scaled down the temp to 500 degrees and the second one was a success so far, no load.

It's on my bench almost completed. Yesterday I had a set-back. While pushing down on the coil to fit over the chip, It peeled off the chip from the PCB trace. I'm a cluts... DOH!

No, the Buck-Boost was a previous module idea. Different

Or maybe he's just 'playing' all of us and using misdirection to cover the secret TI chip??

Put a load on the Boost circuit and found it dropped 0.5 volts, added more output capacitance and got it down to 0.3v, further tweaking tomorrow.
This may be the 04050c replacement... (possibly).
Will do some amperage testing tomorrow.

If I post the photos, I know some of you guys probably have the software they use in the Crime Lab to clear up the photo.
You know the one where a speeding car goes through a street camera and it's all blurry and the software
prints out a clear photo of the license plate and the face of the driver.....
