Tru, does this mean that your boost version is now a no-go, or is that still something else entirely?

It's on my bench almost completed. Yesterday I had a set-back. While pushing down on the coil to fit over the chip, It peeled off the chip from the PCB trace. I'm a cluts... DOH!

I'm very happily settled in with using the OKR converter in my mods. If I could find a boost module that didn't have a 2.5A or 15W limit and that could output 6v I might give that a go. Then I would be on a search for a cool case for it.

I finally got the boost circuit wired up and working at 4.1v to 5.9v with a single 14500. Need to see if it can handle a load. (tomorrow, I'm mentally stressed, or just plain mental) My wife said she smelled wood burning, I told her no, that was just me thinking.
The first build was a disaster seems I fried the chip. These chips are oven soldered and I put too much heat using a soldering station so I scaled down the temp to 500 degrees and the second one was a success so far, no load.

I Just talked to the factory, no stock. he will let me know when it will be available.
Here's another ball for whoever wants to chase..... I still haven't finished reading the datasheet. Maybe by next week.

Ooops, nope. That ball smelled funny. can't fetch it if, it's way over my head.
Worth checking out, but data sheet indicates:
Minimum 8Vin required for 3.63-5.5Vout
Minimum 10Vin required for >5.5Vout
And that other one could be..... challenging.

I think you just couldn't see that ball. I think you could stack 10 of those in an atty tube.
