Hey guys. Great forum with so much info my head is spinning. I am just starting my journey to quit smoking after 25+ years. I bought a cheap gas station model to see if I would like it. I like the concept but the performance stinks. so after some research I have a KGO starter kit from dark city coming tomorrow. Any and all advice is welcome.

You chose a good unit and it should serve you well. Hopefully you included some juice with your order. One word of advice, don't buy a large quantity of any juice at first. Your sense of taste will return once you're been off the smokes and what you like will change. I smoked menthols for 30+ years so of course I started on menthol cartos - couldn't stand them after the first 4-5 days. Slowly I'm finding the flavors I like and I'm probably a few weeks away from my first lagre juice order...

I;d advise buying the stainless cuz if you upgrade to a carto tank they can be used with it.
First fill of the carto is VERY important. If not filled properly they burn out or get a burnt taste. Drink lottsa water as vaping dehydrates.

+1 - the same happened to me. When my taste started to return what I thought I liked kind of changed. Now, I like different flavors...
Start small, find something you like and once you stop the analogs, give some time for your taste to start to return, then place a larger juice order...
Good luck. I can tell you that even with the e-cig, it is not easy but it can be done. I am a perfect example of that!
Welcome kc and congratz on the KGO.. I have four of them! The best cartos, in my experience, are single coil and I really like the 1.7ohm resurrectors from Crystal Clear Vaping. They have great prices and really fast shipping too.
Welcome indeed! The resurrectors work great on the KGO as well as the Boge 2.0 cartos (which I believe come with the kit from DCV). As luvinit said, Crystal Clear Vaping should be your go to for cartos! Enjoy your KGO
ECBlend is a decent place to start. Quite the variety and prices start at $2.50 for 5ml. They also have options to create your own liquid. It's a good way to begin trying different flavors until you get a hand on what you are more interested in.
There are MANY other vendors, and some that offer sample packs. You probably don't want to settle on anything until your taste buds start going back to normal.
Hello everyone, I have been smoke free since Jan. 25, 2012! Wooohooo. I love the concept of vaping and I enjoy it very much. My first purchase was the Halo G-6. I had done a little bit of research and thought it was a good buy for a beginner. Unfortunately I have found that I am less than ok with its performance and longevity. I recently purchased a Smoktech Woo through Tasty Vapor and am awaiting its arrival. Any opinions on vaping units is greatly appreciated. I would also like opinions on flavors. I know I do not care for heavy tobacco flavors and seem to lean toward fruity or sweet flavors. I'm also trying to become verified so that I may trade some of the liquids that I have that I do not like. So....as I only have 1 measly post and verified requires 20....... a posting I will go. lol
Welcome Latin!! And to both of you,, I totally agree with ECBlends. I've ordered from a bunch of vendors, some I loved, some I hated. Everything I've ordered from ECB has been fabulous!! And at $2.50 for a small bottle you can't go wrong. If you like fruity I highly recommend the dragons blood or dragons tear. White peach ala Zoe is an all day vape for me,, it's THAT good! Take a look at their site... It's mind boggling how many flavors they have.

So how long does it take to get taste back and should I be looking for tobacco flavor for now and wait for the return or just go hog wild on different flavors? So many questions bouncing around in my head.

Not that long re: taste and tobacco flavors will not taste like T. Best to buy sampler packs cuz you'll be very disappointed with some juices. Also some may need to be steeped.
Gotta allow sone juices to "sit" put in hot tap water for 30- 45 mins> put in dark closet for 1 day> open and let air in> close put back in dark closet for another day> vape
Some, okay a lot, of tobacco based liquids should be steeped for a week and sometimes longer. Also depends on the vendor though. Some mix to order and some have them already to go and have been sitting for days or so already. Fruitier ones you can usually get away with a day or two. Obviously YMMV..But yes, my steeping method is initially what Vapoor eyes er stated. I just let mine sit longer.
