Don't buy a vivi version 1 they are pos. Go for 2.5 at least. And I rarely say this.
I just cant justify the price of the provari. There is a local store near me that sells them for 270 with a vivi nova v1 included. But I still cant justify that much of a chunk of change. I ended up getting a Vivid variable voltage pass through battery that Im enjoying quite a bit.
I honestly think when people claim the provari gives them a better vape that is all in there head. Like I said I own two of them.
To say it makes you juice taste better or hit harder is illogical. I can admit there is a difference between a 33.3 he chip and the provari but between a provari and a flat dc ego or mod there is no difference at all. They both put out a certain voltage. In the provaris case and some other mods you can choose that voltage.
It all translates to heat and that's bottom line![]()
I might just go this route, and wish to thank you ALL for your replies! I have to wonder, though; if I am to eventually wind up w/ a Provari, can I not just start with that? I am fairly mechanically inclined....
I appreciate you opinion. You can't tell a difference. However, there are still people who claim that THEY can tell a difference. The Provari has the patent on the Acuset chip set which no other device has, and that might be the key. There is an ongoing debate in the Provari thread about the 33.3 chip now, and many people claim to to be able to distinguish the difference. Because you can't, don't dismiss those that can.
Some people can taste plastic if their juice is in a plastic delivery device. I can't, but I prefer pyrex for other reasons. Some people can taste metal with a metal drip tip. I can't, but I prefer the feel of glass instead. I don't go into a forum telling those people that what they are experiencing is "all in their head". It is very real to them, and that is all that matters.
IMO yes you may be mechanically inclined and will most likely pick up the whole VV concept really fast. BUT! this entire hobby is about what you enjoy and always finding that new ADV or that device that just makes your day. If you jump straight into the top of the line mods you will not be disappointed but I think you are also robbing yourself of the experience. I started with an eGO and I currently use an eVic. Planning on moving up to the Provari very soon.
So quick opinion here because hey! It is the internet and who does not have an opinion to share!
I think it is important to remember for many people this is not a hobby. They are not looking to collect, and may get overwhelmed with all the VV/VW/Rebuild/Mech Mod/etc. They are looking to quit cigs and see this as a possibility.
This is partly why I stopped taking my Provari Mini to work and go outside with a simple Twist and Stardust setup. Had people asking about ecigs and when they saw the Provari it was like "Hmm seems weird and complicated." Twist and Stardust comes across as pretty simple, less expensive, and effective.
And that, folks, is how Baditude got his name. The End.Then I pulled out my Provari. He was surprised and dumbfounded by what he saw.
What is THAT? I told him it was MY e-cigarette. He said he didn't know they were made that big. Anyway, I told him to look up ECF online and educate himself and find some better equipment to sell. I took a toke on my Provari, creating a plume of vapor the size I'm sure he's never seen before, and walked off with a smile on my face.![]()

Does that mean the Provari mini is for sale now?haha
As long as something is not run over by a truck, i can get it fixed for $10 or less (or free - mechanics friends are plenty) and it will be up and running in 3 days - an APV is not a rocket ship, fixing one is simple enough. With 2 backups, getting 1 fixed is a breeze. The rest of my money will go into the thing that really matters, the delivery system.
So, with very much respect to Zapped, Badtitude and others, i dont think getting a Provari is a good idea, especially for a new vaper at that.
I understand fully that the Provari is, as Pbusardo puts it, a premium device. However, my point is that in this case, the increase in price translates very little to the vape quality. Think a function with very small derivative. The increase in quality is present, but small enough that it is more suitable for a veteran looking for that next little edge.
