Hi there, I am a new vaper, currently using SmokTech Sid and Mini Protank 2
I've been watching a lot of videos online, there are so many ways to clean and change the coil and wick.
Some people only clean the coil, some people change the coil..
There are just so many different ways.... I am so confused....What is the easiest way the maintain the tank??
Please help..... Thanks!!

how often to clean all depends on what you vape and how much. This can vary from daily for some (like me) to weekly or more. As soon as flavour and vapour decreases or changes is when to clean/ replace. Depending on what you use, you can clean it and if the flavour and vapour are good again, then , there you go. If the flavour and vapour does not get like new, then you replace.

How to clean again all depends on what you use. SOme soak in hot tap water and dry burn, and its good to go. If you use cotton, dry burning is not an option. Remove the cotton, dry burn and replace cotton. If you use premade wicks/coils/ heads, then you can soak in hot water, vodka, grain alcohol etc.

Im sure those that use the atomizers you use will come in and let you know what is best for those devices.

PS, many tend to gauge length of use to days, weeks etc. You hear, some use their atomizer for a week up to a month. Thats cool , but should not be the way to judge. The liquid you use is what dictates how long it takes to need cleaning. We all vape at such varied levels. SOme can take a few days to go thru 3ml of juice , where some that is a few hours worth. The coils get dirty/gunked up with residue from the burned juice. Heavy, sweet flavours will dirty things up much faster. Certain tobaccos will mess things up really fast.

Naturally extracted tobaccos (NET) will really mess your coils/ wicks up. I used to use cartos and was going thru up to 5 a day because I like NET juices. So it got costly to use cartos so I went to rebuildables.

It doesn't need to be confusing piggy. After every 2 - 4 tanks, disassemble your protank and rinse thoroughly with warm water. Let it dry over night and do a dry burn. Reassemble and you're back in business. Change the head only when the head you are using quits working.

Any questions about how to disassemble and/or dryburn?

Thank you so much Bronze and anavidfan!!!!
So all I need to do is :
1. disassemble the tank when I feel the flavor changes
2. put them into warm water or Vodka
3. And then do dryburn

If after I do these processes and the favor still doesn't come back.
I will need to change to wick and coil, is that right??
Thanks! x 99999999999999999999999:2cool:

Yes, disassemble your tank (anything that is detachable including the little silicone collar and the stem it rides on plus remove the stem to expose the coil). I'd clean after every 5 - 8mls until you get a feel for it. Do a thorough warm water rinse of everything inside and out. Let it dry overnight. Do a dryburn, reassemble. My personal opinion is the Vodka is overkill but some still do it. Dry burning solves most ills. If the flavor does not come back it might be due to your coil getting a permanent blob of gunk on it. Then change the head. You'll get a feel for it eventually piggy.

I rebuild everything and anything. My wife has a mini protank that I clean and fill for her. Haven't needed to rebuild it yet as she vapes very little. I'm on to more sophisticated devices. But none of this is rocket science. Yes, you need to take time to learn and understand what you're doing and it is something you should consider doing at some point. But for now, you're new to the vape world so just focus on cleaning/maintaining your protank and changing the heads when necessary. Learn one step at a time.

Until you get comfortable with re-building coils and adding wick, etc. replacement heads for the ProTank can be had for as little as $1.15 each.
Change them when the vapor production drops dramatically. Extremely easy and not at all expensive. About the same as a BIC lighter!
Sun-vapers is a good source for Kanger heads.

this is an easy one, if you aint gettin the good vape, you know, clouds of vape, then you need ur self a new atomizer and sometimes right out of the box the vaperman sells you a coil that dont work, that happen to me before too,

it work like this, if the coil workin good then vapin u should, if the coil vaping bad then change it to a new one that because that is one coil that has been had one had...........................
